New Spectating Feature: Live Overview

I'd like to propose a feature for viewing how a friend's match is going, without actually Spectating the match.

Overview

Overview is found in a players profile in the Match History tab
The top match shows as you'd expect from other matches, but; a. It is labeled as "In progress" instead of win/loss/leave/loss prevented b. Score and items are updated every 30 seconds (3 min. delay) c. Map is live as if spectating (3 minute delay)
Match in progress is only available if the person is on your friends list.

In short, this will let you see how a match is going without having to enter Spectator Mode.

thats why i used op.gg... the lol client sucks so hard... no surprise riot didnt want to improve or whatever... op.gg offers too many others that lol didnt...

It's not uncommon for a game to eventually incorporate popular third party applications as part of the client.

I also don't know what you're talking about. I know they let you save the spectator data to watch, but that's not what this is. If you're talking about seeing what's happening inside the game without spectating, please link it or a picture showing what it is.

On a summoners profile on op.gg there is a green button labeled "Ingame info" Just next to "check mmr" It gives builds, cs etc as the game progresses. I agree that it should be in the client but i doubt it will be, so we'll have to make do with what we have.

No that only shows the rank, win rate, runes/masteries and other general stats. It doesn't show any info of the game.

Well, maybe the new one will give builds. They're reworking the site. But if anything, there's always spectator mode. I don't see any time where you'd need this to be honest.

You can click on the magnifying glass icon to see that information in matches that are already finished (basically the same info you get from the online Match History page). I have no idea what new stuff they may be doing.

The purpose I want this for is so I can get a general idea of how the match is going. I don't always want to load up the spectator just to see if the Annie went mid or bot and what she's building or how the match is going for them.

I donno, maybe i'm just not curious enough. But i usually just either wait for the game to end or send them an IM to ask them.
