For all of the toxicity we hear about and see...
Don't give up hope. I just had a game, and we lost because of something I did. Well, maybe.
So, we didn't have a great start. FB to the enemy team, then we traded kills. I was running Rengar, and was 1/0/2 at about 10 minutes. Not bad, but we weren't winning. We weren't LOSING either, though.
Then my sick 2 year old daughter woke up screaming. My girlfriend has to get up early, her sleeping medication had already kicked in. So I went to go deal with that. Almost nothing could console the poor toddler, and all in all I was gone for about 15 minutes. I came back into game and requested that they report me for AFKing - I had AFK'd, it had affected our game. We might have won, we might have lost, but we were DEFINITELY losing because of that.
My team told me they weren't going to report me. It was okay, my daughter was more important. In a few minutes, I requested a surrender because she woke up again, but I didn't tell them and it didn't pass. I informed them what was up, and they told me to leave the game and it was alright.
This was in a ranked game. Notably, I chose my time to play ranked based on the fact that she's been sleeping soundly through the night for the past few days.
I honored my whole team for that. And it was a shining example that there are still awesome people in this community.
