What is wrong with the new servers?

Is anyone else having an issue with ping on the new servers? 80% of the time my game is perfectly fine with about 32 ping, but the other 20% I get about 85 ping? It's completely consistent throughout the game and seems to happen more often with custom games. My internet is completely fine and my pc is plugged into an ethernet cord. Do the old servers still regulate some of the games when the servers have a high occupancy? Seems to me that's what is happening. Really annoying because I had transferred to LAN in order to get better ping, but now when I come back some of my games have the same annoyingly high ping. Riot should really just make seperate east and west coast servers. There are more than enough players to support 2 servers if fucking LAN is completely deserted and still gets 2 servers.

The new servers put everyone on a more level playing field. Us in the west coast had like at most 20 ping while east coast players had over 150 constant. Now it is the east coasts turn for smooth gameplay.

I am on the east coast. And no, east coast players never has 150 ping unless something was wrong with your internet connection. In Virginia the highest mine ever went was 120 and the intermediate server change thing brought it back down to about 85 which is the ping that I seem to be getting in some games. It's sort of random whether I get 30 ping or 80 but it's always completely consistent throughout the game even when a ping test says that I should be getting 35 ping without riot's special routing crap they implemented. The point is that people don't care as much about an even playing field as much as they care about having low ping. I guarantee almost everyone would rather have 60 ping against a 30 ping opponent rather than both have 150 ping. 80 ping isn't unplayable by any means, but I am one of those people that like to have everything completely smooth. I transfered to LAN a long while back when it was free, and transfered over to NA again when riot moved the servers. Now I have to deal with almost the exact same ping issue that I left because of.

Oh wah, try having 80 ping CONSTANTLY and spiking all the time because America has horrible internet infrastructure.

Spiking is a problem on your part buddy. Riot's new infrastructure runs perfectly fine, the problem is that consistency doesn't matter as much when your ping is high anyways. Just because dying of cancer is a problem doesn't mean that dying of anything else automatically isn't a problem because it's less serious.
