How exactly is blitzcrank balanced?

How do people think that blitzcrank is balanced? The only reason I get is because "you can dodge his q." Yea, you can dodge every skillshot, that apparently means every champion with skillshots is bad. He will eventually hit you, but instead of just taking damage, you just die instantly. Also you can't "stay behind minions" when the enemy team is seiging and they cleared your entire wave. IMO his q needs to either travel slower or have a smaller hitbox. Someone like morganna or thresh, they just blow a qss or cleanse if they hit you, blitz, he has basically no counterplay at all. The only weakness I see is somewhat weak without his q, even then he still has an aoe silence that does a good amount of damage and a point and click knockup. I liked the w change to emphasize his strength and have clear weaknesses, but his q still doesn't fit that well enough as there is basically no risk and extremely high reward.

Well if u are squishy u need Banshees Veil asap. But there is huge risk involved with Blitz. Hooking something u dont wanna hook. Imagine hooking something like Annie, Amumu, Galio, Mega Gnar, Darius, Garen, Riven or other engage champions, in middle of your team. Giving them basically free engage. Happened me countless times against blitz as Morgana. When my flash is down i let him hook me on purpose then Ulti and Zhonya, disrupting their team like mad.

Why are people disliking this thread?

Blitzcrank is not a healthy or balanced champion even when he's played by a terrible player.

By taking the fight to him.

Blitz actually has a poor all-in, most lanes fight him with a tank support and simply outfighting him. You can do this in team fights as well, if your team isn't behind.

Just a side note to what everyone is saying, Blitz is probably one of the weakest supports in game. He generally only affects one champion at a time and it's usually with a pretty long CD. He is also extremely weak when behind, and worst of all, he's super weak to disengage champs. Anyone that can basically tell him nope makes him cry, and if he doesn't get ahead in lane he's useless the rest of the game.

Your best bet is to counter him in champ select with a support with a lot of good disengage tools, like Lulu Janna Nami these three are probably your most ideal counters as they have the most powerful disengage tools available to you. As for how to counter him, generally cc his ADC because blitz does negligible damage in lane, it's pretty predictable where the ADC is going once the hook is landed so CC them and then either counter engage, or get your ADC to safety. I'd personally go with a counter engage focusing their ADC for lots of free damage, forcing the damage source out of lane is one of the easiest lane wins. From there you can either push lane and wait for waves, or freeze lane closer to your side so that they can't farm.

Just remember that outside of pick potential, blitz has nothing. He's got no real support tools to stop something from happening to his ADC. So pushing his ADC out of lane makes him unable to act.

He is balanced though, he has very clear strengths and weaknesses. If he was as OP and broken as you make him out to be, he'd have a 90% pick/ban rate in the LCS and everyone would want to use him. He's really not that great, sure he can be insanely annoying to play againt but i've seen way more useless crap blitzcranks than great ones. What happens if he pulls in your Amumu Galio Alistar Rammus Vladimir MonkeyKing ? He just initiated on his own team. If the enemy team is seiging and they clear your whole wave, stand behind your tank, and clear their wave right back. Or just back off, respect his zone, and don't give him a chance. Or you could just hard initiate on their team because blitz brings his Ult to a fight and that's all. If a Blitzcrank lane doesn't get fed in the first 10 minutes, they don't really bring much when teamfights start up. I'd much rather have Nami Nautilus Alistar Braum Thresh Malphite Morgana than a blitzcrank on my team.

Well blitz also has to hook the right guy i mean if you hook rammus you help the enemy also what else can he do he does NOTHING except hook someone in so if you get hard engaged on he kinda useless you think he is OP cause you just look at his strengths and dont take time to evaluate his weaknesses

Actually there's another counterplay option beside "don't get hooked": it's "let him hook you".

You actually can cleanse or QSS a blitz hook with good timing, it doesn't usually stop the displacement, but it removes the stun portion of his grab, allowing you to flash or use other mobility spells to break the displacement. His hook also cannot stop blink abilities, so if you play Ezreal you can E while he tries to grab you and cancel his hooks effect. Blitz is pretty predictable once you get used to him, so as long as you don't let him get any free grabs from the fog then you should be able to see the grab coming relatively easily, some of his favorite hiding spots are near wolves or raptors, so try keeping these spots warded if the enemy team is sieging, or if the tier 2 tower is gone then ward just outside of the base wall.
