Riot Hates Bronze ELO???

Hello, the title may make it look like I'm a typical bronzie which I will say I'm not a typical bronzie but I am in bronze currently. Last season (season 4) Riot made it so easy to get into silver. For example: my friend won 4 games and got silver 4 (it was his first season in league) and of course, I win 6 games and get placed in bronze 1. I'm not complaining about bronze 1 as I fell to b5 and climbed back up within a couple weeks. But this is pissing me off. I won 6 games this season, and got placed in bronze 4. I understand my performance in all of my games plays a HUGE role, but I did better than I did last season. I even won a game in under 20 minutes which should stand for something. I'm just saying that my friend won 7 games and got placed in bronze 4 as well. NONE of my friends that were bronze or silver last season got even bronze 2. My plat friend won 3 games and got gold 2 out of placements. WHAT THE FUCK!? Riot either loves the high elo players or hates the fucking bronze players. This pisses me off because I can beat him in a 1v1 and he gets carried through his games. wins 3 loses 7 and gets gold 2. I'm done. Stop the fucking discrimination ritoLucian

it's based OFF your MMR LAST SEASON. countless posts have been answered, just search them up.

okay, first of all, the placements were basically deciding how far you fall down the ladder in the reset. Plats generally get gold, golds silver/bronze, etc.

just bc you can 1v1 a friend doesnt mean you deserve a higher elo then him. there is so much more to games then 1v1s.

The only things that were actually factored in to the ranked placements this season, are the order in which you achieved your wins, and your MMR from last season, so your performance in game is apparently irrelevant.

Your performance within the game has nothing to do with your ranking. That's not how the Elo-based MMR system works. It's based on whether you win or lose, and for placements the first few games are worth more than the last few. The reason you ended up lower this season than your original placement is that your MMR is based on the previous season's MMR. So if you were Bronze last season you're more likely to get placed in Bronze this season unless you win like 9/10 or 10/10.

Also "Elo" isn't an acronym, it's the name of the guy who made the system (his last name was "Elo"). As such, you only capitalise the first letter.

The reasoning could be because you call Riot by "rito". I don't know about you but I hate when people say my name wrong or make up stupid nicknames. I would be on their side for that. I'm just saying, if that were the case I would stick you in bronze too. Also, because you just are not skilled enough. gg wp
