Today two of my ingame friends have sent me a message saying

Summoner!This year is Riot Games' 8th Anniversary, therefore we're giving 400 RP to every summoner who sends this message to 10 other summoners.Good Luck!RegardsRiot Games Inc™

and I just want to know if it is real or not since there isn't a link or anything to make it seem suspicious. I'm honestly assuming it's fake, but for something like this without a link, why not just check it's viability.

It's fake. If Riot was going to do any kind of giveaway, they would announce it on the main site on the front page.

Message those friends and tell them to change their password, their accounts have been compromised.

It's real, but they only gave you part of the message. To be eligible for the RP, you have to attach a picture of yourself dressed as Teemo doing a handstand to the ten messages you sent. (Kappa)
