Has anyone else noticed that Garen and Darius seem to be built to be the same(or opposite), let me explain... 1st there "names" Darius- The Hand of Noxus, Garen- The Might of Demacia

2nd they are both the "strongest warrior for there repective nations

3rd both are massive and physically imposing

now there abilities

Passives- Garen- passively heals himself, where as , Darius- passively damages his enemy

Garen's Q and Darius's E- The Q is a engage that speed Garen up and brings him to the enemy and does an "attack" oppositly the E is an engage that pulls the enemy to Darius and does an "attack

Garen's E and Darius's Q- Both an AOE abilites that involve spining (even though Garen spins more Kappa)

Garens W and Darius W - im going to break this into 2 parts

  1. Both W's effect base stats, Garen's passively increase his Armor and MR where Darius lowers the enemy's attack speed an movement speed(when cast on a enemy)
  2. on cast Garen receives a shield and Darius has his cool down reduced on the ability(varying on hemorrhage stacks)
  • I know im stretching the similarity on the W but they're still there

Then of Course there is the there Ultimates- They both have Execution Ultimates, where as there ulti's also resemble they home countries... Darius is a large Jumping brutal looking "dunk" that destroys his enemy where Garen's is more Swift clean and "elegant" looking

well, long story short they either "identical" or opposites in everything...

TL:DR there really isnt a tldr quit being lazy and read the post

Of course they are, they are meant to be foils to each other.

Honestly, if they were to sit down and talk and weren't split by state, they would probably be the best of friends.

Garen is a symbol of Demacia's power and he is the standard that all other soldiers are placed against. Darius is also a symbol of Noxus, where he displays the no mercy and warlike structure of both military and civilian training and education. They are the epitome of their respective nations and in turn bitter rivals. Its seems riot designed them to be polar opposites of each other in belief and morals, while having a similar fighting style.
