I'm surprised that I'm the first to mention this, or maybe it has just been buried, but they need a tuneup. Their lore, while solid, doesn't fit runeterra anymore. They desperately need some fixins and an update, not to mention an interaction.

Riot's lore department has been understaffed for ages. That's their excuse.
I think their lore is fine, but they could update it. Whatever happened to the summoner that Kayle had made a deal with and suddenly went missing? Plenty of the champions don't come from Runeterra not necessarily a bad thing just helps explain weird creatures and elementals in the league when those things don't seem to be part of the base setting like Demacians and Noxians.
