I heard the horror stories of it, and my team placement matches put us at Bronze 5 even though we won more than we lost and were higher than that last season, so i have a bad feeling about my Solo Q placements...

Id wish to at least be placed back into gold and not have to do the Silver 1 bullshit all over again...

I hear the combination of your W to L ratio as well as your MMR rating for last year factors in. As long as you play good (5 Wins so far is good, keep it up!) and you did well last year you should be fine. SOloQ and Team is entirely different brackets afterall.
