Very Innappropriate and Offensive Names Allowed Through????

Why are people allowed to create usernames like "I Was Molested" and "Abused Mother". How low can people get first of all? On top of it, why are they allowed to continue to have such names? So what if it never happened to me, but by making a "funny" (or whatever they think it is)username people desensitize what it actually is and try to make a joke out of it. This is extremely inappropriate and while I think Riot should give us the freedom to choose our username, we should also have at least SOME guidelines on what is and isn't appropriate because I think we can all agree such usernames are very offensive. I don't really want to load into a game and read these two names and just get angry and annoyed with these people before the game even starts, not to mention their rude and snarky comments on top of it. It creates such a negative environment and I think Riot should expand their system from just curse words to words like Molest, Rape, etc. I don't know why they'd even be allowed through in the first place. I understand we have a tribunal and a report button but OBVIOUSLY it hasn't worked if these guys are level 30 Diamond tier players. I am so disturbed by the sheer apathy people share towards others who have gone through such experiences, its all fun and games until you actually know someone and see the struggle they go through every day to overcome the terrible acts carried out against them. So yes this is a rant, and yes I am angrily typing, but it's not okay and this is an issue that I feel is very important.

Because riot can only censor stuff like swearwords. Abused mother is a combination of two words, and riot isint going to prevent players from using every word that could be in a bad name.

You can literally report people for having offensive names.

Im on the fence about this. Generally its the teens that get a kick out of nasty names, or feel that nasty=funny. I went through that phase so its hard for me to get mad at others. It desensitises people from the words imo, not the actual thing. Its true it might upset someone who did go through it but people can get upset about anything.

Basically I think you are right but at the same time I dont think those that come up with such names are bad people or in any way feel good about actual abuse etc. It is a grey area which I might wish didnt exist but I dont think its ok to demonise those that dont care enough to stop. There are much worse things in the world.
