Why I think it's considered High elo at first?
Why I think it's considered Low elo at first?
So umm, which is Gold referred to as? High or Low?

Low - silver and bronze Mid - gold and platinum High - diamond +
It's like the gate to high elo. It's not there, but it's the door.
Gold is in the top 30% of the ranked playerbase (top 22% for Gold 4 and above).
I'd say it's relatively high up there in comparison to the average.
Doesn't mean that Gold is that good though; just better than the average player (which would be around Silver 4).
I generally consider it the highest tier of low Elo.

I think you will probably find that most people that are gold and below consider gold to be high and most people higher than probably consider it low.

Bump. I'm still confused of which is it.
As Gold V I consider myself low elo. If I were Gold III to Plat-1 I'd consider myself mid. if I were D5 or higher I'd consider myself high elo.
That's how I break it down personally.
Anyone with some logic can make it to gold 5, you don't even have to be good at the game. I play ARAM all year round and still managed to get to gold 5.
Back season 1-2 gold is a pretty high elo but now I don't think so

I would not call it low or high. Though the terms low and high are all perspective. Gold is differently where you are better than average at the game. Gold tends is top 30 % of the ranked player base.
So i would say it is higher elo but not high. With that in mind i can not vote.
It's not high it's not low neither
Gold to me is what Bronze should be.
I'd say Plat is the beginning of high elo, because that's the point that Riot decided the players are proficient enough to balance around.
Considering the ppl from gold/plat/dia I've met both ingame and forums I'd start counting from challenger.
