Getting sick of the support bashing.

Really starting to grow tired of it. Not just with my games, but this overall idea that Supports arent even part of the team. These teams will talk about how great they are "Oh look at all my kills" while in the same breath telling the supports (You know the ones who leashed, the ones who stunned, CC'ed and crippled the enemy so you could GET Those kills?) about how much they suck, how trash they are because they have very few KILLS themselves.

As I said I have had numerous games where I went 1/6/19 or similar games, But I get shouted down, insulted, degraded. I get told how trash I am while the adc brags about all his/her kills and how OP they are. But does the support get any respect? Nah, they arent even considered part of the team because they arent scoring double digit kills.

I just got out of a game where the whole team had a game of "Lets flame the support" Yes I know I went negative that game, I tried not to. But I was focused on getting my adc (and the rest of the team) kills wth stuns and slows. But nope, none of the support's efforts matter. And when the support tries to actually put thier foot down and ask to be treated with basic respect. They get shouted down, flamed, called a bitch, a baby...Then the team demands the support get "back to work" In a manner of speaking. (Basically: "You are trash, you are garbage, Look at your pathetic kda. You suck so bad. Now get over here and help get me fed" Imagine how that feels.

I am a support main, I try my hardest. and I am sure all supports try thier hardest. But Just because they are support that doesnt give you the right to trash them, blame them, completely discount all thier contributions to the team and act like they are nothing because THEY arent going 22/0 like you are. Yes you got those kills. But dont forget who HELPED you get those kills. Stop treating supports (as a role) like they are somehow Inferior because they arent focused on scoring kills like the rest of the team.

As a support myself, I am really getting sick of it. You think you are op? Yeah try seeing how "OP carry" you are WITHOUT a support to help heal you, cc the enemy, provide vision. Then brag about how great you are and how useless supports are. Treat supports with basic respect, or dont expect them to keep supporting you.

You are Bronze V, thats the problem.

People only care about kills down there, they don't care about anything else so yeah they gonna talk trash to anyone with low kills so is not about playing support.

But seriously, 37% winrate in Bronze 5? I think you must be just tanking your ELO to troll in bronze, amarite?

How2support:

  1. Go Taric
  2. Take all the kills
  3. Buy all the armor because you are fed as fuck
  4. Leave your lane
  5. Push all other lanes while ADC "outplays" the duo bot
  6. Win the game with a 2/9/0 ADC
  7. Free salt for your fries

It doesn't have anything to do with you supporting. If you do bad, toxic people will flame you no matter what you're playing. Mute them as soon as you recognize them as toxic, and report them at the end of the match. Don't give them your attention.

Don't try to drown out all criticism though; there's always room to improve, and even if they are assholes about it sometimes they are right. Can't get better if you think you as good as you can be already.

It's so sad that league presents the support role like this but they aren't trying to fix it or give incentives to stop it. I used to think of myself as a support main, but it's just so hard to stomach with that kind of treatment being so typical to be thrown under the bus.

Your voice is has no credibility, your life has no worth, and you may or may not even deserved to be talked to or treated like a person, BUT youre expected to and DEMANDED to do your job perfectly in the midst of such team apathy for you otherwise. Your ADC is playing too aggressively and dies over and over, but its "My support is s****y". If you've got a good idea, too bad nobody wants to hear it because youre a lowlife support. "Thanks for getting me kills, now go kill yourself" And like not everyone is that bad, but the average league pub is.

When champ select starts it always feels like a game of 1 2 3 not it to me.

I recently lost a game as... I'll be honest I don't remember who. Anyway, what I do remember is that my allied Ryze had 2 more deaths than me, and he had two more kills than I. Started flaming me about how bad I sucked and how I need to uninstall and delete.... except that I had 15 more assists than him. Get to end game chat and see that I made 3k more gold than him... as the support.

As for a suggestion to all supports whose ADC goes toxic... Just leave.

Literally whenever my ADC starts to be a dick I tell them that I am going to mute and leave lane if they continue and if the do I do exactly that. Normally I unmute within 10 minutes and they are begging me to come back. Also by that time top is usually down because a top laner with a support against a solo top laner is a pubstomp lane.

I like to think that your K/D ratio takes assists into account. I think on certain websites(like op.gg) it counts an assist as half a kill. So even on my games where i go 0/2/25 or something like that i still end up with a K/D of 6.25:1 which is pretty respectable. The main issue is that a lot of people don't realize that the supports are basically spoon feeding them the kills.

#I am ALWAYS proud of myself when i have games with 20+ assists with less than 5 deaths. That means i'm doing my job extremely well.

I swear these are made up to gain false sympathy, I have played for years on my main, on a Smurf, and a EU smurf, I have asked my friends and NO ONE can recall moments of support abuse that the boards talk about.

  1. Pick up Trundle
  2. Mute, Ping, and Pillar
  3. ?
  4. Profit!

then just chill, bruh. It's alllllll good. ;)

Life is too short to care about faceless nerd-rage, and if you really want faceless nerd-respect then you might be playing the wrong game. Play for yourself. Nerd-Ragers can just get bent.

I'm surprised the Support role isn't significantly more popular. It's the only role I can ever always have fun with. I don't have to snowball like Mid laners, I don't have to deal with 6 tank item tanks one shotting me like Top lane, I don't have to worry about being 20-0 and yet unable to outduel a single champion as ADC. Support is really chill, fun, and champions like Janna can make insane plays.

you're playing with bronze 5 players what do you expect?

Lynne11/6/2015, 8:37:59 AM1 votes

Firstly, all players should be treated with basic respect, and not just supports. Also, I honestly doubt that you get flamed every single game, and I personally haven't experienced supports being the most mistreated role like you describe, while I see at least one person blaming the jungler almost every game. Moreover, I assume that you main support because you enjoy the role - in that case, you shouldn't need the validation and recognition from your team to have a good time, and if toxic people bother you, you have the option to mute and report them and just continue doing your best - this is the advised course of action for players of any role. Of course, in an ideal environment, there would be no need for this, but since negativity exists, we have to try and deal with it, as expecting some miraculous change seems futile in my opinion.

Support main here. I understand where ur coming from..kinda. I understand some hate can be thrown at u and I understand u want some respect. U hav the rite mindset tho. As long as u don't stoop to there level you'll get there one of these days. Do note that as bad as this is gonna sound. You ARE stuck there for a reason. It's not all ur teams fault and there is room to improve. Especially if ur going into ur promos more than once or twice? There's gotta be some improvements u could work on. Also being a support main, u generally need someone to feed to get u up there. Try duo queuing with a friend that trusts u so that ur not just diving and hoping someone follows up. see if u can manage to get passed some of the hate before u try and go solo as a support main.
