[Suggestion] Global chat in game client

Will League of Legends ever have an in-game global chat?

The current version of clubs, chat groups, friend chat, is all too limiting and I know that LoL's social scene has greater potential. As of now the client is pretty much a 'queue up, play the game, repeat' kind of thing. Time constraints in game lobby, inefficent to type in chat whilst actively playing in game. Nowhere to chill, nowhere to chat, nowhere to kickback and have a nice conversation with the thousands upon thousands of people playing league of legends.

Outside of the game client there are sources to chat like these boards or on reddit. However I feel as though having a global chat implemented within the game client itself would be an awesome thing to have. For reference, look at old battle net games in Starcraft and Diablo 2 to get an idea of what I mean.

The client can barely handle what its doing now, could imagine how terrible it would be trying run a chat room that supports millions of people lol...at the end of the day it is a game not a chat service

  1. Not sure if client and server can withstand millions of people in one chat room.

  2. Go see any twitch chat with more than 100 people in it. It is unreadable because of the amount of trash that flows through (memes, kappas, lols, pointless things). Imho global chat would be a disaster

I can understand an official server chat with like a max of 150 people with like 3 different chats to select from. But a global chat might be a bit of a stretch. And this might be me just being a bit ignorant, but the language barrier would just be a bit too much to handle. I am speaking from a total GLOBAL chat perspective. It just seems like a hassle to me.
