Got a question bout MmR

I've just recently started playing league start of Season 5, currently G2. I was climbing fairly quickly, however my MMR eventually stabilized once I hit around Gold 4. I was gaining 17-18 LP per win. Just recently, this month, I had gone on a few winning streaks (winning 8 out of every 10 games I played) and my LP gain had increased to over 25-27 per game. I understand that more LP = higher MmR for the respected league, however why the sudden jump? **Can this dramatic jump in LP boost be calculated or will it just happen eventually? **

  1. This is preseason where rank doesn't matter because you are almost guaranteed to get placed even if not lower than last season.
  2. This happens if you are beating teams above your divisions mmr. There is no real way to calculate it, because riot has kept their algo a secret, but op.gg uses their own for a good guess.
