SOLO, DUO, TRIO, QUADRO?

I've just started playing league early season 5, so I was wondering how duoing placements will work out. Is it more effective to play placements solo or with a group? What do you guys suggest?

I duod a bit with a mid plat friend of mine, and ended up laning against high plat. Will match making place lower teir MMR against higher like usual? And if so, how much is this "soft reset"?

Play on your own. You don't want to be put higher than you actually deserve.

Then, assuming you get high enough to get decay, you are going to play games way outside of your league and end up crippling your team until you are out of plat.

Just play by yourself and you will do just fine :)

Are you sure?

Assuming you actually want to play ranked, nawh.

If you wanna just play provisionals to get your rank and get the victorious skin, go right ahead and get yourself to plat/gold and decay yourself.

But otherwise, don't bother. It ends up hurting everyone in the process. You cost your team a loss, and you get lowered down anyways :v

I would like to be master at least once, even if my scrub diamond ass doesn't belong there...

I was thinking more provisionals. I have absolutely no knowledge outside of provisionals, and wont try to say that I do.

But if I had to guess, it would be the same. Then again, I don't exactly know what the difference in skill level between those two ranks are. I don't know if it's blurred like Silver and Bronze or distinct like plat and diamond.

I think the higher you get, the bigger the skill difference between divisions becomes. In high elo everyone knows the basics of the game so it's not like in bronze where you can win because you're Vladimir and the enemy is spending all of his gold on armor and trying to fight you. What starts to separate players is micro aspects of the game such as getting 1 more cs per minute than your opponent, getting hit by a few less skillshots, knowing exactly how much damage you or the enemy will deal and if it's worth using x summoner or not (as an immobile champion, flashing to get a kill usually ends up in you dying due to lacking flash later).
