It is counterplay. It's just that it is counterplay to every single champion (minus like Olaf), so using it as an argument is pretty dumb.

CC is naturally a more effective counter to melee champs than it is to ranged champs because melee champs need to necessarily be in melee range to be a threat, thus making them easier to CC in the first place. In addition, they're also more likely to be close to several enemies at once due to being melee, and being stunned next to 4 enemies is far more dangerous than being stunned next to just 1 enemy. So yeah, Master Yi IS countered by CC because it shuts down his threat, prevents him from getting resets, and locks him down long enough for your team to focus him down. I would not recommend blowing stuns on a Mundo, by contrast.
"just cc/just run away" is counter play to a fed champion, any fed champion.
if they are fed, either you force them to be useless by making plays only when they aren't near, or you force them to be useless by cc'ing them.
tbh the best counterplay is to clear waves then pull out then clear waves then pull out, while mainitaing enough vision of them to be sure they aren't grouping.
You know, you can just cc said Champions. Or just run away from them.
Except CC is counterplay, so your logic is invalid.
Also all 3 of the champions you're whining and crying about are more or less balanced (exception being tank Yasuo).
