Why does no one thank the Support?

Serious question from a support main...why is it that whenever the ADC gets fed that everyone assumes they did it all on their own? Why is it that when the 2 squishy carries on your team survive, barely, and get multiple kills that they think they are gods? Why does no one realize what supports do for the team?

I mean...I'm not for glory hogging, never have been...but why does everyone get a pat on the back...but the supports? Every clutch Janna shield, Sona heal, Nami bubble..why don't we get recognition?

I don't expect to be waited on and congratulated as a support. I'm a kill-feeding slave to my team. Honestly I think people should treat me like dirt more often.

Look, unless you did something REALLY special, noone is gonna point it out clearly. Its just not neccesarry. If your ADC is fed, he knows its also thanks to your supporting, why should he be forced to point it out. If your Top Lane Tank dies as the only person in a TF whilst the Enemy gets Aced, the Team knows its thanks to him taking their Focus. I can only truly speak for myself, I Main ADC and Support about equal, and i "gj" the other guy on Bot after the Kill/Assist. Often i am the only one even saying anything at all. But i dont need them to point out i did good. Them being dead while we live is proof enough to me.

But still, sometimes it would be cool to not be the only one saying "gj" at all. No matter what position did good.

I usually get recognition every now and then, But being a support is your job. No one thanks the jungler every single time, or teleporting top laner because like you, thats their job. That being said, we are the unsung heroes whose greatness comes from utility rather than large numbers.

It took me four times not to read: Why no one tanks the Support

They kind of do though, providing you're winning. This misconception really irks me.
