For those of us who have been playing this game forever, lots of IP tends to accrue. I would love to bring new players in, but in addition to a crappy new player experience the number of champions in this game is so huge. It took years for me to get all of them, and now there are even more for new players to get. I think IP gifting champs should be a thing.
While it would be nice, the main problem with this is botting. If we could gift with IP this would cause Botting to be much more worse, because people who do this with the intention of gifting yourself (or random people) free champions. We already have a botting problem as it is, and giving them free items would just make matters worse.
its only a special case here probably because its been a few years since 2 champions released simultaneously, but also because they are basically work well with each other. With that said they probably want to see how the community like occasional IP gifting. Like how they recently did with Chroma. Im sure if they can upgrade their detection and can find people who abuse the system quicker we would see something like this much more often!
It would be nice for e.g helping friends who just start playing the game by gifting them few champs, or to make OTP smurfs. Up for it.
