Title. Lost a game. Went to 0 LP (from like... 17 or something. Lost 19). Lost another game. Demoted.

Not if you drop to 0LP, only if you had literally JUST ranked up after a promos and were at 0LP. If you gain any LP in that division that loss prevention goes away.
It depends on your MMR.
If your MMR is already beyond the threshhold, you will be immediately demoted.
