Deathfire Touch's Newfound Lack of Clarity

After a recent patch (not sure which one) the number that showed how much deathfire touch is doing is gone in game. Instead, it gives you the ratios to figure out how much damage it would do with your amount of Ad and AP, instead of just giving you the number. Why?
