That moment when you question whether the stress of League is worth it. Where is the fun?!?

So lately I've been introduced to Tera, and I have to say It's nice being able to play a game with what seems like mostly adults who are fairly level-headed. They don't tell you to kill yourself because you died once, they don't tell you to go fk your mother because you aren't the top dps, and they don't scream racial slurs because you didn't carry them. It's actually surprising seeing human beings act like.. human beings.. instead of wild animals.

Where has the fun of this game gone? I feel like there is no fun at all in it anymore, it's just mindlessly spamming ranked games trying to get to a higher elo which fails so much due to incompetent teamwork and players.

Basically in Plat if I don't go 10-0-10(I add assists because I have to spoon feed the lanes who probably have fed 10 kills already and pray to God that they can be useful) in the first 20 minutes and carry the hell out of my team, then it's going to be a loss. It has become just that simple. It is highly frustrating to play your heart out and carry one game, only to have your next game have a team feed 1-12 in the first 10 minutes.

It has become so bad, that I find myself often questioning how people ever get out of the really low Elos when they don't know the very basics of games like this.

Maybe that's where the fun has gone, THERE ISN'T ANY because you have to depend on someone else for your rank. I have always depended on myself for everything. Now having to rely on strangers to choose between "Good for team vs. Good for me" is very depressing because, let's be real here, they only care about themselves.

Hmm, do I defend my nexus turrets or that inhibitor turret or.... do I farm this 8 cs bot lane away from all the action while my team gets steamrolled? Hmm... yep you guessed it, 8 CS is what most people choose no matter how many times you ping mid or yellow ping him.

Your kidding yourself if you think any community is absent of bad players like that.

Most of it is in peoples head, any fresh new place is going to seem better because that's the negative attitude a lot of people have towards this game, if your not having fun then stop playing it, no ones forcing you.

Such is the nature of the MOBA genre.

I understand your post and agree, that's the way the game has evolved. However, as I was given advice in WoW ages ago, you can't take the game seriously in a "solo queue" format. If you want to be legit, make a real 3s or 5s team and focus on that. Solo queue should only be for giggles and if you're not having giggles, you're better off playing something else. Hopefully happiness finds you!

League is heavily influencing my attitude, I find myself tense and snapping at frequent trolls...

than I started playing my smurf and all of a sudden I'm SO laid-back and uncaring when we're losing and the team was flipping out, yet at the exact same time, I was getting bashed in /r/Minecraft and I was getting increasingly pissed yet I kept my cool in the actual League game.
