[Draft Pick] Should Two Simultaneously Pick, or Take Turns?

Taking turns to pick is supposed to make it fair and enable discussion and counter-picking while maintaining pick-order, but having only the first and last picks pick by themselves gives people more opportunities to ignore pick order and lock in what the person above them called. My experience is that insta-lock trolls ignoring pick order happen more often when they are given the opportunity to take a role from someone above them because they pick simultaneously (as opposed to picking something already taken).

I'm not worried about it since I'll concede my role to troll assholes so we can just continue the game, but I'm curious; why not make every pick go one at a time? (but pick order still being red-blue-blue-red-red-blue-blue-red-red-blue)
