Why does Ryze's champion update comes BEFORE Yorick's?
Come on guise, I could use some update on the Yorick rework there at least, he has been sitting on the same spot for a long time now.

The answer? Because it is easier and because they only have limited resources.
They better give fucking Ryze a skillshot I swear to god.
Also yes it's bullshit. Yorick's rework hasn't gotten an update in ages it seems like and it's been in progress for years. Ryze is bad for half a year and he already has ANOTHER rework.
If riot answers they will be all like "cuz is hard. takes more time." "Ryze was easier and shorter so we did him" "we know yorick is a problem but other people are before him."
TLDR they will say "live with it."
Reworks have less to do with time and more to do with them coming up with good ideas that actually improve the champion and fix their issues.
Although Yorick having been taken out of free week rotation for literally years is absurd. I remember they posted some of the rework ideas they had a long while ago, but apparently they didn't pan out.
Because they have a schedule on who is to be done... Ryze, Poppy and Kassadin were listed on it for the longest time (https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/202294884-Champion-Update-Schedule), as well as announced in a forum post. Then they snuck in the Morgana Effects update, kind of like how they snuck in the Alistar update while Trisana was being worked on.
So, they have to plan these things out and which ever ones are closer to being ready they announce as upcoming projects. With Kassadin being done awhile back, it was then on to Ryze and Poppy should be the one up after that, but hers is of course Sion type level since it's just fully re-building a champion. Yorick, falls under the Full Relaunch as well since he's just a mess, so they have a lot of work to put into him.
Ryze is easier to do then yorick. Much less work.

I know there's work orders and stuff, but this happens to Ryze every season.
Yorick is not even on the list of champions currently being worked on. They have said to expect him at the very end of this year, or sometime next year

Because full AD lifesteal yorick jungle is silly.
Every time Riot remembers Yorick exists he needs to be disabled for a bug.
Honestly, I think the big thing with Yorick is that there are many ways to make a minion-mancer character, and Yorick should be League's premiere minion-summoner. It appears on the surface that a champ based around that heavily would be difficult to balance as he can do things like summon a minion instantly to absorb a skillshot and zone/harass without putting himself in much risk.
Make the mechanics of the minions too simple and you get another instance of old Heimerdinger, whether late game is either paper turrets of pattycake if you fall behind or a risk-free third of your opponent's health with the press of 1 button if you get fed. Make them too complex and Yorick will turn into a StarCraft level micromanager whose difficulty turns away everyone not in the pro scene.
Then you have to take into consideration Riot's technical growth over the years. New technology and potential is why no champ is released any more with passives as simple as "Gain X% of Y stat as Z" or why champs aren't just bundles of "Spend X mana to fire skillshot Y (x4)". Odds are they'd want to add some dynamic options for him, such as his strength being tied to the death around him which would increase Yorick's power should he decide to farm rather than hover around his team late game.
Wish I had more time, but long story short, he's not going to be a small or quick rework.

This doesn't mean 100% expect to see these in the next year, sometimes things get modified or put on hold. Not every one of these projects is like Sion in size and scope as well, the update is meant to fit the needs of the champ. Also, don't have a lot of details to share on the specifics of these, but info will come in time.
