Jungle Role Does NOT Take a back Seat to Devourer

Yeah so its happening more and more and I am personally getting sick of it. I just lost a game because of a complete Yi package (personality wise) Master yi took jungle, and from that point on it was pretty much GG (As in...we lose, gg, Not we win) Master Yi took Devourer, and IMMEDIATELY his role as Jungle took a back seat. Top lane had only gotten 1 gank, that stopped Bottom lane Had not gotten any gank, Didnt get any. Come to find out, Master Yi was under the assumption that Jungle role doesnt start untill AFTER his devourer had been "sated". and By the time he had, Bot lane had already been lost to a Urgot/Tahm. But that wasnt the end of it. Bad enough our Yi chose to abandon his role as jungler to run around feeding his devourer (At the cost of the lanes) He was incredibly arrogant, full of himself, narcissistic. And failed to understand that that attitude was why Yi players are so hated. He spent the whole game bragging about how he was carrying, about how great he was. This despite the fact he didnt gank lanes, Bot lane was lost. Yi would wait off to the side, Let his whole team die, then jump in to clean up the last hits. The game took longer than it had to because he kept voting no, bragged about how his team was "Just salty because they arent doing as good as me" Even as teammates were dropping like flies, even as towers were crumbling in no time, He still kept on "Its ok, We will win this" and after the match (WHich we lost, thats why everyone was so pissed), he still kept bragging and didnt understand why people were getting mad at "The yi who carried your asses" (his own words, we lost and he still thinks he carried us) Then at the end of the match he reported anyone who got angry at him because he chose devourer over the role of jungler and left the lanes to get overrun. Reported bot lane and top for telling him that Jungle doesnt mean just gank one lane once and spend the rest of the time in jungle feeding devourer.

If you take devourer. JUNGLE DOES NOT TAKE A BACK SEAT. As the jungle your first duty is too the lanes, NOT to ensure your devourer is fed First THEN see if there are still lanes left to gank. Your role is to gank lanes, and help lanes that need it. If you happen to get devourer fed along the way, Great! all the power to you. But if you choose getting devourer sated comes before actually playing your role, DONT PLAY THE ROLE. You will hang your team out to dry just for your own damn ego (I am seriously getting sick of how conceited players are getting, the "all about ME" mentality. Moving foreward I know I will never play on a team with a Yi. If its in team builder, I will leave. Sick of the narcisssistic little kids.

PS. Dont be this yi, THIS is a perfect example of why Yi Players are so hated, why they are immediately banned in ranked. And why I will NEVER play with a yi on my team again. DONT BE A YI!

LoL, I actually ban Yi in ranked because at my ELO it's too unpredictable how he will perform. It has nothing to do with whether or not he's dedicated to sating his devourer and more to do with whether I can trust my teammates to get fed or to not feed... which is to say that I can't trust them in that regard at all. You should realize that there are three types of jungling:

  1. Farm jungling
  2. Gank jungling
  3. Counter jungling Jungling is not always about ganking lanes and you need to understand the champion picked for jungling influences play style. Devourer on a jungler is a strong indication of farm jungling style and the ability of the jungler to get sated is huge in terms of the impact that jungler can have or not have on the game and Yi, in particular, doesn't have the CC for ganking. He may have been better off picking a different champion than Yi for that game, but just because you didn't receive a lot of ganks doesn't mean he played Yi incorrectly.

That said, although Devourer is outstanding for low level solo queue, we don't see Devourer in the highest levels of competitive team play. Come to think of it, we don't see Yi either...

The worst part is honestly the toxicity. I mean, if he had told your team he was just going to get Sated, you probably would have played differently; stayed back, allowed some zoning, just because you know that a large power is coming to you soon.

its not the problem with devourer, its the problem with master yi as a champion and master yi players.

Backseat players are always a problem in this game.

A lot of carry junglers I have played with are jerks. They are a delusional lot who fervently stroke their egos even though they are detrimental to their teams because they take a backseat to jungling.

Even if this guy didn't buy Devourer, he would still been a scumbag.

i actually would prefer more people to stop caring about what every other member of their team was doing, and worried more about how to get far enough ahead themselves to make up for their teams deficiencies.

sometimes you cant, but usually if you are good enough you can cause the difference no matter what your team did.
