Need help with creating threads!

Hey guys. I need help understanding how to make 'prettier' threads. I don't know how to make images appear where you want them in the OP. I either post a link or use the little paperclip over there >, but they both just sort of show up wherever they want. I also don't know how to make those cool borders that help separate trains of thought. Also, is there any way to recolor your text? I'm conjuring up a champ idea and was thinking it would be cool to put his AD/AP ratios in red/blue text respectively. Thanks for any help guys!
