Since we are limited to getting one box per champion per season

Why not just set the monthly limit of boxes gained by friends to 2 but let us gain as many boxes as we can through our own S ranks? Seems rather silly that you have two restrictions on getting boxes.

The point of it being set up the way it is is to limit the boxes themselves. You gotta remember you can pull DJ Sona, Pulsefire Ez, etc from these free boxes. Thats profit loss if they give em out all willynilly for your S's. Goal is to reward you, but not give you everything you want - this is also why we can't trade shards and why shards can be gotten for things we already own. It all comes down to profit.

You do offer a valid point, but there is still the restriction of one per champ per season, and on top of that I doubt it will be very easy to get an S on every champion in the game. I doubt for most people they will be able to get 52 boxes themselves off their own S ranks alone.

I see where you're coming from - but just like anyone not being able to take part if they had a chat ban and what not screams that this is a sneaky way to get the community together and be agreeable. I could even see this a ploy to get the players grouping so they don't have to produce SoloQ

Reenactment As Follows:

Dude/Dudette 1: "Oh hey, we'll give them this loot system that will be best taken advantage of by grouping with a variety of people and anyone with action against them can't take part for a while - thus fixing our community problem"
Dude/Dudette 2: "That's a good idea, and we wont have to produce a SoloQ because guess what! All the solo players will have people to play with!"
Supervisory Dude/Dudette 1: "Yes, we need this ready for the 2016 season! Make it happen minions"

Not entirely, not everyone has their friends at the same elo as them, In fact I am a good example of this, none of the friends I play with on a consistent basis are near my elo. My alone games are almost all ranked, my "with friends" games are all ARAM or Normals

I trust in riot enough to believe that they wouldnt make such a stupid mistake as to entirely remove solo-queue from league. I believe your leap in logic is a bit flawed and really a bit paranoid.
