Why not just set the monthly limit of boxes gained by friends to 2 but let us gain as many boxes as we can through our own S ranks? Seems rather silly that you have two restrictions on getting boxes.
The point of it being set up the way it is is to limit the boxes themselves. You gotta remember you can pull DJ Sona, Pulsefire Ez, etc from these free boxes. Thats profit loss if they give em out all willynilly for your S's. Goal is to reward you, but not give you everything you want - this is also why we can't trade shards and why shards can be gotten for things we already own. It all comes down to profit.
