Does pros still being in Plat make us score lower in placements?

I was reading youtube comments (like a fool) and someone mentioned that the highest you can get placed is Plat 1. Then I looked up Redmercy's rank and (for some reason, I don't actually know, destiny if you will) looked at his first team and saw Pants are Dragon and clicked his profile and saw that him and a bunch of other people such as Fishing for Urf and Xpecial were there in Plat 1. My question is, does them being there make everyone else get a lower division than they should do to higher divisions already being filled? Or does this have nothing to do with anything whatsoever?

INB4 this post gets removed because apparently anything related to placements is supposed to be in gameplay apparently...

P.S. If it does, then don't play your tenth placement game for a few more weeks until the pros fill up Diamond+.

I'm planning to wait for a month or so before playing my placement matches.

I was Platinum 5 before the reset and getting matched with Platinum 2/3 players, so I would likely be in the same initial MMR range as they are. At a quick guess (based on what I've been hearing on the forums), I'd likely be initially placed somewhere around Silver 3 to Gold 5 after my placement matches (I think most people are going down ~7 divisions?).

While I could play my placement matches against people of my skill level and go even-ish, I'd rather let them climb out of my MMR range. That way, I should be able to play against people as skilled as my reduced MMR (high-Silver to Low-Gold). I'm above them in skill, so I shouldn't have too many issues getting a high enough win-rate to climb divisions quickly.

In the mean time, I'm going to try and practice my main roles (top and jungle) while catching up on my weaker roles.

Also, I've been getting the urge to play Urgot because of all the AD assassins being picked (primarily Zed and Rengar). I'm not doing that in ranked until I know I can play him well (if at all).
