Yeah, All because they didnt like my champion choice. I wanted to try a new character, and see if I could use a rengar as a support. I have had a rengar support and while I was unsure of it, in the end I was open to the possibility, to try and see if I could make it work myself. The team in NORMAL DRAFT was Not having it. (apparently Normal draft is for PROS only, No newbies/noobs allowed) Yeah so I wanted to learn How to use rengar in a form I am used to ...as a support. I like the challenge, the strategy needed to make it work

My team wasnt having it. My adc flamed me right off the bat, anytime I went in to slow or cc them, he would instead turn his rage on me (he was playing Mundo adc) and yet me Playing rengar support meant "You playing a rengar support means you are a scapegoat" And of course the rest of the team chimed in. Jax calling to "Report ren for intentional feed" despite the fact I was 0/0/0 But yeah, proves my point, Supports arent actually part of the team, arent considered anything more than something to dump all the blame on and use as a target for reports if the rest of the team needs someone to point the blame at. Proof: I took rengar as a support, tried my hardest. But despite me being 0/0/0 they still tried to report me for trolling/intentional feed.. afk when I was in the shop...whatever they could try and make fit.

Laugh or cry. This is what supports have to deal with. Not just salt. But Not even allowed to LEARN A NEW CHAMP with this community. they arent open to new ideas in the slightest.

This is what any role has to deal with should they go wildly off meta. I suspect Mundo went ADC because you went Rengar Supp, so the game didn't recognize him as the antagonist, but rather a reaction to your "antagonist" pick. Had you picked something like Janna and he went Mundo, people would've flipped twice the shit. If you take Rek'sai mid, people flip a shit. If you take Soraka jungle, people flip a shit. Take Sona top, people flip a shit. It's about being off meta.

Too many people play this game now and are indoctrinated into a meta. People believe there is only one way to play League. Now it's true Rengar support does not outperform about any other supp in the game, however it was wrong to flame you for that.

Also, it was draft. It's typically polite to keep that sort of play in blind pick normals. Normal draft is where people go to train for ranked, and having these off-meta, fun supports are not in line with the point of draft pick. I'm not saying you're not allowed to, but please understand that there is a specific normals game mode that is more in tune with what you're doing. Now don't get me wrong, should your rengar support somehow become godly, totally take him into draft and ranked. But just trying it out, that's something typically viewed under blind pick.

In terms of reports, never fear reports. I can randomly say "Report for calling me racial slurs." Are you calling me racial slurs? No? Ignore it. It's also against rules to ask for reports, labeled under harassment, so you're safe unless you are horribly toxic. There was/is no point in bringing up the fact that people flamed to report you, that was a given. Take the wrong summoner spell and salty children want you reported.

But overall, the rage came from the semi-serious atmosphere that is draft pick. Draft pick is a place where you practice ranked as it is a direct mirror of it. When I play, I dislike seeing "troll" picks. It doesn't offer a realistic portrayal of the ranked games I'm training for along with the fact that more often than not, the picks fail. I'd strongly urge you to practice fun builds/roles in blind pick where no one really gives a flying fuck. Even new champs should typically be practiced in blind pick. Draft is really meant to be the "Just about ranked" stage.

And please don't say "I can play whatever mode I want however I want." Understand that although that may be true, that logic goes for a lot of things. There's a time and place for everything, along with the coulds and shoulds. You'll get a lot less grief if you follow the basic logic of the game modes.

Also, the flaming was wrong. However ADC Mundo is an equally fair pick as Support Rengar is. The fact that he went ADC Mundo is perfectly fine, the fact that he raged at you was not. Make sure you understand this. Kind of unclear what your stance on that was in your post, so don't take this as me accusing you of hypocrisy.

Yeah he has actually Origionally planned to go Mundo ADC even in pre game chat. This was before he even noticed that I had chosen Rengar as Pick intent. He had planned to go Mundo adc, then tossed around the idea of trading with jung. but because that fell through, he went Mundo adc anyways. I didnt question him going adc mundo, and I try my best to be as open minded as possible. But apparently just the mere thought of ME playing something outside what "Everyone else plays" or being told to "play a REAL support" instantly makes me a troll, and makes it acceptable to use the support as little more than a disposeable scapegoat. I Have been playing sinse mid season 3. I will admit I do take it seriously. I play draft because its the closest to ranked, I have NEVER had a good game in blind pick.

I am a support main, Support is the role I tend to feel most comfortable in, It lets me take my time and observe patterns of movement (I have aspergers syndrome aka High end Autism. so I tend to notice patterns, far more observant) This lets me see patterns, predictive movement patterns and such. BUT I find if I am playing a Standard meta support like a sona or a soraka...they are far too predictable and for me...borderline Boring! I like the challenge and strategy of taking an off-meta pick and seeing "How can I make this champ work in more of a support role?, what can this champ bring as a support? Mobility? heal? CC? leash?" I am Scary as a Support Velkoz, and I do play support jhin, timing shots just enough to leash the enemy down before Handing them off to adc for last hit. (I call it ADC Babyfood! Better than mashed peaches! :D Fed better than a Gerber Baby!)

I am Not Just experimenting, I am also Analyzing how the champ works, so that If it ever comes up I need to take the champ as an emergency pick in ranked, at least I have an understanding of how they work, but I am learning how they work without leaving the "safety" of my support role. People now act like the Moment you buy a new champ, you are NOT ALLOWED to be new with a champ. You MUST be a pro with the champ from game 1, able to go 28/0 and get every penta. Otherwise they flame you, tell you to uninstall, and ot go get aids and die or something rediculous like that. Or they tell you to take it to Bots. But BOTS doesnt help. Sure it gives you a way to see what the character can do. But it doesnt help you in a real game setting, its the equivelent of being at a shooting gallery, all it shows you is the basics of how to fire. It doesnt train you how to react in real life scenarios, just shows you how to use a gun and lets you work on your accuracy

I understand that draft is more like ranked-lite. and I do take it seriously. I do follow the basic logistics. And yes I am training to be able to prepare to use a particular champion in ranked so need to be able to learn how to work the champ in a ranked-like atmosphere. But the attitude I get from everyone else is "This is your role. THIS is How you can play, This is WHO you can play, THESE are the items you can build. THIS is the pre-approved strategy, This is the pre-approved gameplan! Why? Because its how EVERYONE ELSE DOES IT" The thought that maybe I am more observant, more flexible is completely out of the question, Any observations I make as the support are invalid and I am supposed to shut up and be a good little verbal doormat. I am Not actually part of the team, I am just there if people need a verbal punching bag or someone for the rest of the team to dump all thier blame on when its convenient. And Doesnt matter how many kills you help feed your adc, They can discount ANY part you played in thier 10+ kills at a moments notice. They could be 10/0/X and you could be X/0/10 but they will still label you as "the useless support" and those ten kills they got? That was All THEM! support did nothing.

THIS IS WHAT I FEEL LIKE AS A SUPPORT! This is How I would describe what its like playing the support role.

Sorry...didnt mean to go on a tangent. But as a veteran player (of sorts). its kinda gotten under my skin That a role I enjoy playing, has become this.

It's not exclusive to support. It's every role. It's just that support has the greatest direct impact as it is a duo lane, just the same as ADC has the greatest impact. And predictable and boring sure, but you will be met with resistance as something as Rengar support that really offers very little in terms of what the support role is supposed to do. It's like seeing Zed support, or mid Leona, or top Raka, or something. Will it work? Maybe. Is it statistically sound? Probably not.

True, It may not be sound. But with Blind pick. It is basically people just trying out ANYTHING. no real planning. There is no real intent to win. its mostly just for "shits and giggles" But Ranked is serious. and So normal draft is the Closest to ranked WITHOUT actually being ranked. It Lets me play seriously WITH the intent to win. While analyzing where a specific champ works, where it doesnt? Where are its strengths, where are the holes in the strategy, etc. All in a competitive (or as close to competitive as possible). While also learning and improving. I am an artist, and I have found the best way for ME to learn is when I am "on the clock". When a customer (or in this case,t he team) expects results, I find that motivates me to try and learn/understand/ and apply what I learn in the shortest time possible. But people act like you arent ALLOWED to be "new with >insert champ<". From the first game You HAVE to be that Uber pro that never dies and can always Hard-carry the team. So yeah, creates a really stressful environment when everyone on your team expects perfection and will rip your eyes out for even missing a last hit minion as an adc.
