[Rant] I lost my cool for the first time since my two week ban. I'm sorry Lyte.
Update can be found in the last paragraph (TLDR turned out to be too long. For summaries, read bolded print)
Ever since my two week ban for extreme toxicity in games (especially ranked), I managed to keep myself under control until this particular game came along. We had a great team comp:
: Jungle (Me)
: Mid
: Top
: Support
: ADC
Everyone was getting along in champion select and we starting to explain our gaming styles and preferences when the enemy team eventually locks in this:
: Top
: Jungle
: Mid
: ADC
: Second ADC
I personally celebrated playing against a team with few sources of hard cc and no front line that could stand up to a late game Sion or Udyr. We went into the game with high hopes...and then the things started to happen. It starts something along the lines of this:
: Hope you don't mind if I take your chickens
: Uhm...okay?
EXECUTED
Proceeds to finish off chickens with passive and teleport to lane after respawning
I may have blinked awkwardly at that but I let it slide. Then the thirst kicked in. Confident in their abilities against "not-the-meta" opponents, our top, mid, and bot decided to start the most interesting game of Call of Duty: League of Legends DLC (PC Edition) that I have seen in a long time. To sum it up, the enemy
is now Godlike about 10-15 minutes into the game. We realize that this could be a problem and start to clean up our game. A lot. To once again time jump, we get five dragons with relative ease and start to turn the board around. However, I should note that despite having five dragons, the score was around 19 to 34 in their favor. For some reason. It is also at this time that I notice that** I am almost doubling the farm of the next highest person on my team.** BAD SIGN #1
Now, as a jungler, it's usually our job to keep track of objectives and especially find the best opportunities for said objectives. It was for this reason that we were able to secure so many dragons with relative by taking out key opponents right before it respawned. We manage to take down
(I believe he was their weak link) and all our lanes are pushed up with most of their 2nd tier turrets still remaining. With total vision control of Baron, I made the call. It was very risky but we could take it with relative ease this early in the game. Team decides otherwise and wants to use this advantage to push mid. Long story short, they all died. Rip.
In the retaliation push.
gets killed and we use that advantage to finally take baron with no resistance from the enemy team. This leads to a dropped inhibitor and what looks like the end of the game. Wrong.
It's about this time that all the kills we fed them starts to kick in and
+
start to scale out of their weaker start to the game. I made the call that I would split push and we would force them to split up. I discovered during this time that I could 1v1 the enemy
with relative ease. However, **my team started to get picked off repeatedly and I started to show my disdain for their actions and lack of wards or common sense. **
Second baron roles around and this happens.
and
are on the back side of baron. The enemy team knew we were doing it and I predicted
to ult in from behind baron pit. I saw him come, and figured
would grab or silence him during the channel and we would ruin their chances of a steal and finish the game during the death timers...That didn't happen.
kept punching away at baron and
entered the pit, shredding
,
, and
. After dying, our
managed to secure baron.
With
's actions, I was pretty salty. And I got the good 'ol "Stfu" from
when I called him out. Most of us have baron and we call another split push and I start to push bot. The idea was to use baron to resecure the inhib in mid and also opening up bot for the second inhib. Had I checked mini map, I would have seen that as my team pushed into their base for the inhib, they suddenly left. Just up and left. There were no pings to back off or anything so I continued my push and got collapsed on and destroyed. I was very bewildered and checked to see where my team had gone. They were doing 6th dragon. How they managed to telepathically communicate that choice I will never know. Now baron is gone.** I'm livid right now, because of how many opportunities to end the game we had but for some reason my team decided against it every time.** My team pushes into base again this time into 4v5 and gets destroyed. This is about Strike 4 for my patience. Now normally, this isn't hard to control because people make mistakes all the time. Bad calls always happen somewhere, however, when I expressed my concerned and legitimately asked people to stop doing things. They got upset with me and started to purposefully troll around.
3rd Baron is another success for us and we start to push again, I once again call to split bot but
and
start to troll and run around me while I'm pushing. I sacrifice myself for that turret in bot lane and we get wiped out while everyone is running around making fun of me because I'm obviously salty. I've honestly never been made fun of or purposefully trolled just because I was salty, so this was a new trigger that I didn't have experience resisting. **Now, because I fear the League Gods of punishment, I never swore this game but instead stuck to things like: r%%%%%, idiot, this team, why are you all so r%%%%%ed, so stupid, etc etc etc. **
The enemy team took the advantage (in terms of gold they never lost the advantage the whole game) and pushed into our base and got two inhibs. At this point, I am asking the enemy team to end and get me out of this because no matter what I said, the game turned into a Free-For-All on our team and every man was now for himself.
4th Baron is...another...success...
runs mid alone and suicides into the enemy team #HUEHUEHUEHUEHU.
, refusing to leave my side because I asked him to leave him me alone, and I are killed in bot lane and the game finally looks over...but instead** the enemy team decided to try for their third dragon** at this point and gives
,
, and
a chance to respawn.
is taken out and dragon was stolen away from them at the cost of
and
. The enemy team now pushes into our base 4v3 and things are looking grim until they decide to split up and
manages to out range and out damage the remaining enemies and wipe them out. We mad push desperately into their base and end the game. This game took 1 hour and 11 minutes and could have been over around the 30-38 minutes mark. I lost my cool and was uber salty after the game to a point that I reported every single person on my team for assisting the enemy team when they decided to start running around and chasing me instead of playing the game.
There were several other minor things that I found to be really annoying and just led to more salt being thrown around. Thank you sticking around for my rant and I pray that your future games do not contain experiences like this. Ten Dragons and Four Barons later, the final score being 48 to 69 (still in their favor), I think I need to take a break from this game for a time. I'm sorry I failed you Lyte.
DISCLAIMER: Numbers, timing, and order of events are relative according to my memory and may not be exact, however, all events described are as accurate as I can get them to be.
2ND DISCLAIMER: Was I perfect that game? Nope. Did I make every single good choice? Nope. Is this "always my team's fault"? Nope.
I just had a very frustrating game and had teammates that valued kills (or in Jinx's Case, Farm) over finishing the game and supplied so many openings that the whole game turned into a joke where I wasted 70+ minutes of my life. Victory may have flashed on my screen, but that was not a win for me and definitely wasn't fun. This was actually a bit of a build up, I had recently had three trolls as teammates in a row over the course of three different ranked games earlier in the week. (the odds of that being astronomical from my previous years of experience with this game) So being trolled again, but this time by my entire team, was very unnerving.
UPDATE: I'm getting a lot of feedback, mostly centered around people weighing swearing over calling someone a r%%%%% and what they consider to be more offensive. I want to clarify that the point of my statement, "Now, because I fear the League Gods of punishment, I never swore this game but instead stuck to things like: r%%%%%, idiot, this team, why are you all so r%%%%%ed, so stupid, etc etc etc.", was because of my experience with earning a two week behavioral ban from Riot. Upon receiving my ban, I requested the chat logs from player support that led to my ban. Every single chat log showed excessive use of swearing and vulgarity, not the use of words like r%%%%%, stupid, or idiot. So in my eyes and from my own personal, and possibly incorrect, opinion, Riot holds excessive swearing and vulgar language over calling someone or multiple people r%%%%%ed. I am not condoning one from of offensive language over the other.
