How The Hell Do You Counter Akali?

So after the new year i'm returning home and looking forward to paying some League of Legends, however i'm NOT looking forward to playing against akali and here's why

I get she's melee and can be poked easily but how the f*ck do i deal with her? I can't ever all in since she'll just go into her fog, however she seems to all in without a problem, I can't flash either since she has unlimited ultimates, and poking her doesn't do anything because you're wasting mana on a champion who already only needs energy but now she heals a lot aside from the 15% healing she gets on the Gunblade that she's sure to build.

So no i'm not complaining, i'm not calling for nerfs, and i'm not asking for a revert, simply how to deal with her? Who is she weak against? I play lots of mages but I'm good with Zed and I got Yasuo recently, are they good against her? What are her weaknesses? Thanks

Also, please don't hurt me, I bought a mystery champion with leftover RP which turned out to be Yasuo, and I don't want the RP to be wasted, I hate him to but he looks fun and I guess I can just abuse him till Riot fixes the problem [slayer-jinx-wink] Thanks!

Try Taliyah, Her E and W let her harrass her through shroud, and the slow from Rylais(Which if you don't have Rylais on Taliyah, legit uninstall thats like no flash on annie) let you keep her at a distance while dishing out massive damage in poke and kiting, build a Morellos on top of that for grievous wounds and she cant heal it back anymore, hope I helped!

One spirit visage and I haven't had a problem with an akali that isn't 10 levels above me.

2 champs I've always seen Akali have trouble with are Malzahar & Zyra . Akali for the most part is single-target so has difficulty dealing with multiple plants/voidlings. Obviously their cc also plays a part.

Akali is in a generally weak state right now. Build a negatron and she'll struggle to kill you with an all-in even with all three stacks of her ult, unless you stay when low health or you let her get ahead, but that applies to any champ. More or less every mage has more burst right now. Champs like Annie, Syndra, Anivia can wreck her. DPS mages like Cass and Aurelion Sol will struggle hard. Skillshot champs like Lux are hit or miss in lane, but are easy pickings once Akali gets items, so it depends on you.

Akali is basically a hard counter to Yasuo, even in her current state.

Edit: Akali is particularly hard to play against champs that hard push quickly and safely. The best one I know of is Morg. Combine with Morg's R and pool that can hit Akali in her shroud, Morg's magic shield, and the insane damage on the snare and Akali will struggle. It's the hardest counter I've played as Akali. Annie is stupidly hard, too. Annie doesn't even have to save her stun and so she can spam her Q to push lane for free and still win all-in trades.
