Can Bard's Heal get something to make it less meh?

Yes I understand that you can lay down multiple heals at once, making for a potentially massive heal on one person. Yes I understand that the heal pack lasts for a long time so you can put it down for people to use when you leave. But despite these things the skill just feels really underwhelming. It needs SOMETHING put onto it to make it more powerful in the end game. Because the only use I can find for it is to spam on myself to get around slightly faster to collect chimes.
