Is it illegal to get boosted by your duo partner
I have a high ranked buddy who said he'd get on his smurf and duo with me to Gold. The idea is that he would teach me as much as he carried me, but idk if its against the ToS

I wouldn't. After all, what's it matter if you get Gold but don't get any rewards? Have him teach you in normal games.
Gold is nothing to be proud of. Neither is Platinum, but at least you can say you're better than like 93 percent of the NA player-base when you get past Plat 5. It's really astounding how bad the 93 percent are (after you've realized how bad all of Platinum is).
no its not against the rules.
Smurfing is not against the rules. Duoing is not against the rules. There's no reason that doing both at once is against the rules.
