Why am I being match with low silver/bronze players against high gold/plat?

I think it was because I was on a large win streak a few days ago. But now 6 losses later I'm still being matched against Gold players, sometimes Platinum. and with Bronze players. I'm a bit confused, is my MMR silver/bronze because I always get matched with them or Gold/Plat because I always get matched against them? Either way, having no chance at winning because everyone is flaming and feeding while the enemy team is just effortlessly outplayed us isn't exactly fun, nor good for my tribunal standing. Anyone else experiencing this?
