Well thank my lucky stars, I almost did not recognized the link and my fingers almost clicked it. In the end, I managed to conviced him about the scam and had him & his friends change their passwords. I really wish Riot would do something about this trickery.

What's funnier is that after I told him it's a scam, he doesn't believe me and says "you'll never know unless you try it".

Not much Riot can or should do as unfortunate as it is. Just one of those things that crops up this time of year. It is fairly obvious it is a scam is the issue, if you just look at the URL it has nothing "leagueoflegends.com" related in it for example, not to mention riot never has and never will just give away RP like that.

If anyone falls for it, and unfortunate as it is, it is their own fault I hate to say. It is very obviously a scam.
