Last chance to play as Taric

This week is your final chance to play as Taric in his original form if you do not own him. Taric being available on free week is a rare occurrence and with the rework imminent and fast approaching I can bet you a million gems that the rework will reach him sometime next week or the week afterwards. I am 90% sure that the rework will be an improvement over his current form but just in case Riot screws this one up royally (as they did with Mordekaiser and Shen) you can look back with wanting nostalgia at what once was the pure embodiment of fabulousness with a bitter-sweet smile across your face.

And if you really want to show your love and support of your favorite gem knight there are dozens and dozens of unclaimed Taric-specific summoner names still out there. That way when you hit the rift with your favorite Ezreal, everyone will know that your gratuitous levels of fabulous are not a gimmick and that you are a professional gay.

I probably should try Taric just to complain about how much they jack him up. Or to add a new support to my roster if they get it right. Shen though.... Fucking shen... It just made no sense to me.

He's actually a very strong champion statistically. And for a support he has some of the best DPS and wave clear for the role. And against any AD heavy team comps he really thrives. But he is gated by being a niche support with a weak early game, no gap closer and a telegraphed/single target stun. And he is also gated by iceborn gauntlet. Without that item Taric lacks sticking power. So lane compositions like Caitlyn with her superior auto attack range and Morgana with her spell shield render Taric completely useless since his early level heals are barely noticeable. But if you can overcome his shortfalls he is a very respectable support who transitions very well into the late game.

Lets not look at him like a support, cause that's certainly not how your supposed to play him.

IMO Taric makes one of the strongest anti- AD top laners in the entire game. and hell i've even won against vlads and kennens. His kit is perfectly suited for it and he resembles someone like a malphite, but with crazy dmg and sticking potential. Once you have Iceborn and Sunfire you do amazing dmg, have op heals, an armor debuff (incase you run into a tank toplaner) and a stun that can come up every 3 seconds if you layer it right with your passive. To me, Taric is the last person who needs a rework. Taric

I disagree on him not nending a rework. Compare Taric to a majority of the champions that have been released in the last year and Taric is severely lacking in both mobility and CC. The situation you brought up about Taric having a 3 second stun is such a niche situation that you're lucky if you can pull it off even once per game and it's a freak occurrence if it happens more often than that. He needs a heavier presence in either his mobility or his cc because that heal he has scales horribly without spirit visage equipped. And as a support it is horrible to be item dependent since out of all the roles your salary is the lowest. But the things I like about him is his versatility to play 4 lanes and his overall tankiness. The only abilities I am content with are his W and his R. His passive, Q and E all need serious upgrades. And if I were a betting man I would say Taric's heal will get moved over to his passive, his E will become a skill shot and his Q will be something that either gives a minor speed boost or extra cc.

Eh, he's alright. A bit too scrawny though. No muscles or anything, not to mention that annoying voice... shudders

I'm gonna miss old Taric when they rework him. Although Nami is my go-to support, Taric's my second choice and my primary pick for if the team needs a tanky support. I've done so much fun shit with him, from helping out a lot with damage once I get Iceborn, to interrupting dashy champions with E, to finishing off barely alive enemies by using W. One of my favorite memories was yolo-rushing into dragon as the enemy jungler was taking it as none of my other teammates wanted to go help with it as we were losing at that point. I got there and AAed the dragon once and stole it from him. Got out too because of Taric's E, and we eventually managed to turn it around and win.

For those of you who have never played the outrageous one before, I also recommend it. He's really great fun to play despite his low pick rate, and he can end up helping a lot if the game ends up running long. Enjoy it while you can, because I sure as heck will!

That's the one thing I will miss most is how much people will underestimate me. Taric can do some incredible things once he gets his items.
