I have 3 wards up almost constantly, unless I run out of sightstone wards. I am so sick and tired of asking my team to place more wards only to have them tell me it's MY job. IT'S EVERYONE'S JOB. This is NOT season 3 anymore where the support could just BUY a stack of 5 wards and litter the map. (and even THEN everyone SHOULD have been warding) EVERYONE gets a free ward. You can UPGRADE it for JUST 250g, and its basically like a NEVERENDING SIGHTSTONE.

I swear, I want to punch anyone who tells me that cause I'm the support it's MY job. No. F you. Everyone is supposed to do it, supports are just the only role to do it consistently. And maybe jungler.

And I especially hate it when it's the ADC who says it. BOY, you didn't even swap to blue trinket, you better at least be laying that FREE WARD down. I babied your butt all lane, and THAT'S what you have to say to me? Seriously. These people.

ITS THE SUPPORTS JOB TO WARD

The support should have a sightstone. Or at least an upgraded trinket. It is the support's job to ward, but other roles should help as well.

That's the general idea. Yes. But sometimes the stupidity of your teammates dictate you forget the Sightstone (and even a fully upgraded gold item) for something that helps your team survive their stupidity. When both sides are mid and STAY mid even after dying and even when minions are pushing down inhibitor towers, I think Locket of the Iron Solari is a better choice to prioritize rather than the Stone and some misc items. I got yelled at for doing just that. Had I not do that, we'd be Aced when out of the stupidity of their hearts, they dived a bunch of tanks under a tower.

i found at lower elos/normals that a lot of times it isn't even neccessary to buy the sightstone since you can have 3 wards down with the upgraded trinket anyway. Saves roughly 650g and an item slot which i use to put more damage/defense into my build.

FYI at lower elos/normals the support turns into a carry/super tank due to longer games and more snowball potential. Also sometimes you get a really crappy adc (aka can't dodge anything and ignores pings) and you just have to take over their role.

yeah when my adc is just the worst I usually just mute them and start farming etc and roaming. Nothing is worse than being support and being trapped in a lane where your adc cant farm properly or position properly, so you end up behind in gold AND levels. Games like that I pray for bot turret to fall so I can move around.. I've ended up turning some games around that almost certainly would have been losses by playing more like a carry and less like a support. That's why I mute the adc ahead of time.....when the support is doing better than the adc.....prepare to get flamed.

Reminds me of when i'm jungling.

Clear first 3 camps, check radar and every lane is pushed up to enemy turret so I b.

Clear other side, check radar and every lane is pushed in so I b.

Clear one camp on my way out of fountain and check radar, all lanes are pushed and enemy jungler hasn't ganked yet. I move to countergank top lane since it seems most vulnerable. Jungler ganks, I countergank and we get a kill. 5s later bot lane gets double killed in a 2v2.

Bot lane: USELESS JUNGLER NEVER GANKS NEVER HELPS GG

Why do you back before clearing the whole jungle? Nearly every jungler should be able to clear both sides before backing and some with a gank on the side with maybe some counter jungling.

i'm a jungle support main and i've had games where my first back doesnt happen as far along as sitting at 2400 gold, lvl 4-5, and a gank or two under my belt.

Well, there's actually a legitimate reason for that. You get more gold and better jungling from your tier two jg item. The longer you stay in the jungle without it, the more potential gold and maybe even gank power if you go chilling or skirmishers you miss out on.

I mean, it was somewhat understandable back when I could completely ward every bush in the enemy jungle forever, but with the not so new ward limit shouldn't it be common sense that multiple people have to ward?

I get this at least once a week. More often if I'm playing more frequently. But yes, some people are still stuck on that mentality. It really saddens (and angers) me when I get stuck with teammates like that. :c

I feel lucky to have not been told this in quite a long time, but something equally frustrating is when your team refuses to upgrade their trinket. Even if they're full build and you point out that someone getting caught out due to lack of vision will cause a loss, they still refuse or ignore your request.

Had a teammate repeatedly say the single word "wards" implying I needed to put down more.. This player never bothered to upgrade trinket till told to. People stuck in season 3, forgetting a single player puts down 4 wards at most.

As a support main, I can say that It IS primarily your job. Others should be doing it as well, but you should always have the most down, and be rotating yours the most. And accept whatever the team says and roll with it. They want wards moved to a new area? You do it.

Let's say they want you to ward red side blue, drag, and the bush close to mid. That's 3 wards. Say you B, now someone is telling you to ward baron. You just but up 3 so if you put down another one is going away. Let's say you do it and the ward at blue is gone. Your team does drag and enemy teams jumps them from blue. Then they blame you because you didn't have a ward there.

^ I agree Veridian, this guy's/girl's mentality isn't accounting for the fact that people will ALWAYS complain about warding, as a support main myself I get this more in normals than ranked cause people actually "sometimes" have brains there. And it's just a normal, but w/e. Wards in bot lane? "where's the ward by their blue so I can steal it?" Wards by dragon. "Where are the 500 wards in bot lane to catch a gank?" Its rediculous and these (adc's mostly) make me sick to my stomach.

You literally get a free ward at the beginning of the game, and you can get more for only a couple CS. The most infuriating thing is when your teammates complain about a lack of wards without even upgrading their trinkets yet. At Level 14.

And bringing this up can cause rifts in the team. It's better for the sake of winning to just accept the abuse and move on with it.

I mean, it isn't that abusive though. They say mean words, you process them. You then take a break after a while to clear your head and go back. It's nothing major lol.

Wait, what? Not "that" abusive? What is "that" abusive? How wrong is wrong? Abusive behavior is never okay, regardless of how "bad" it is or isn't.

You clear your head and go back, and the same thing happens because people get the idea that it's okay to act that way, and they keep doing it. I don't know about you, but I don't have any fun playing with a team that's hostile toward me for any reason, let alone no reason at all, or a reason that's actually in their control and not mine.

When I play certain junglers, mid or top I just buy item 3361 . It's cheap, and can keep 3 wards up constantly like a sightstone that doesn't need to go back to base to recharge

the funniest thing that has happened to me recently is that I as that adc helped ward the lane and the support the thresh stop in the middle of a trade to say thank you. and with that thresh in late game as kog we melted the enemy team

I mean, I know I could be warding more than I do, but generally I at least upgrade my yellow trinket and try to keep it placed decently, and keep a pink out. If I die because I didn't see a gank coming, it's my own damn fault.

I've only heard that once recently when our top that was getting ganked was told to ward and he was dumb enough to say "That's not my job" - he was impugning that it's the junglers job to ward for him and protect his lane. Needless to say he ended up leaving the game when no one came to his defense while he flamed out jungler... we still won, but it was rough.

Nothing bothers me more than seeing someone have an unupgraded trinket 40 minutes into the game, then going into match history and seeing only 2 wards placed.

My favorite is "gg out support has no wards down or vision control." I then ping my three wards at drag bar and the enemy blue our jg and i just stole as well as 3 wards killed with sweep.

My ultra favorite is in the first 5 mins of lane my adc gets hit by every possible skill shot then "are you new to X champion/support" my response is the mute button

I remember one game where I was the ADC and I went and placed all the wards that the support wasn't. That support told me that "warding was his job," to which I replied that it was in the best interests of the team that we ALL place wards. We ended up winning that game.

if you want to actually have vision, everyone has to ward. especially with the trinket and vision system as it is, EVERYONE (including the ADC) has to ward.. luckily i think my mmr has improved enough that this isnt really an issue...i see everyone throw a ward or 2.

I feel like people who play support know how important vision is moreso than any of the other roles. I may play mid as much as I do support, but when I can, I ward, and I upgrade the basic ward. I end up almost always warding the most out of anyone, sometimes even the support (always if I AM the support). I take vision very seriously.

This thing item 3361 is arguably the better version of sightstone. It only costs 250 gold, which you'll likely have left over after buying an item.

I don't understand why someone needs to be designated the "Warder" when anyone and everyone can (and should) place down just as many wards with ease.

As someone who does a bit of everything but who's true calling is support, I completely agree with you. It just gets on my nerves every time I hear that. Sure I'm the support so I have to do it consistently but I'm not the only one who has a ward with me at the beginning of the game.

Adc main here. I'm tired of always having to ward the river bush when we're pushed. I'm not even the support in most of my games and I'm the one remembering to keep an eye out for ganks. So yea, it goes both ways.

When I'm support, I can ward the river and a side bush and things are peachy. As an adc, I gotta constantly poke the bushes cause who knows?

People need to get the concept that Not Dying > Getting Kills. because everyone feels the undying need to kill everything in sight, they just refuse to buy anything that isn't part of their build when in reality, getting killed because of an avoidable gank will rob you of more gold per second you are not farming than it would if you bought a full set of wards and kept up a perimeter around your lane.
