Sivir vs Soraka

I'm not sure if this is a bug, but it seems really weird.

Assume both players are level 3+.

Sivir can spell shield Soraka's Q. Which is quite normal. Soraka still gets healed, though Sivir takes no damage. Which I find a little odd.

Is that the way its intended to work? I feel that Soraka should not be able to heal off a spell shielded Q.

it heals on hit, not on damage. it still hit you, you just stopped it. hard to word it well, but its working as intended
