Why does faceook friend finder app need our email address?

I tried to activate it, just giving access to my account and friend list, but it told me i had to give it my email address (the one associated with my fb acct) too?

It's not such a big deal i guess, but i don't understand why it would need it.

They already have your email, you have to use it to sign up to play the game

Isn't your email what you use to log into Facebook? How exactly do you expect the program to find your friends if it doesn't know who you are on Facebook?
