Low-ish ELO vs High-ish ELO

So just got into a normal match, team builder, cause I wanted to make sure I got the champ I wanted in the preseason, so w/e, and I see that my teammates are basically all silver and the enemy team is basically all plat.

I'm thinking to myself at this point it's up to me, I play plats in ranked exclusively and I was on my main against an Annie jungle of all things. So I got fed and hard carried my team through the early game and mostly through the mid game as well.

The problem came up with the difference in ELO. I was telling myself it wouldn't matter, I'd carry, I'd pull these silvers to the enemy nexus myself! Sadly.... they were too... well they were too low ELO....

By that I mean after finally forcing them to come for Baron after I had set up extensive vision, caught out their ADC, and their mid laner was in bot lane, and they'd refused to group in the area cause they all wanted to chase for kills and catch people out, usually only trading their lives for one kill if they even got one. Then after securing Baron I tell them to go for the top and bot lane inner towers, we were a catch comp, not a teamfighting comp, not a seige comp, didn't even have any reliable poke, and the enemy team had waveclear and a strong teamfight, so diving them would be r%%%%%ed and we would waste our baron trying to force down a tower and likely even get engaged on. Sadly, my team once again refused to listen, standing in mid holding their dicks doing absolutely nothing, then ofc my Leona saw an opportunity to ult their Kass (who had Zhonya's) and go for the hard dive while they were all still full health.

I was wreck-rolling the enemy Renekton top lane so they sent their Annie up to help him, so my team dived 4v3, got wiped, and blamed me for not grouping and losing the game singlehandedly...... then ofc they're all silver elo so started yelling at each other and constantly throwing up ff votes even though we could still win if we stopped playing to their strengths.

But nope, Leo and Olaf kept trying to force fights in the jungle against a Kass, Braum, Annie, and Vayne while our Vayne was constantly splitpushing and I was trying to get wards up nearby. Often they'd just get imploded and I'd walk away cause I didn't want to 1v4, and they'd again yell at me for not helping in the 3v4......

So yeah, there is no such thing as ELO hell, low ELO players just don't understand comp match-ups or priority objectives. That's the main difference I saw.

Things a silver player must understand:

  1. Stop surrendering. I know you died 3 times, it doesn't matter.
  2. A 1 death for 1 kill trade is not worth it.
  3. Think as every death being equal to 2.5 kills. So if you've died 4 times, you should have 10 kills (this applies for carries and such)
  4. A kill is worth around 15 cs worth of gold. Just go farm and don't risk dying.
  5. If someone on your team is caught out by 3 enemies, don't go save them unless you have tons of cc or are fed. Better one death than two.
  6. Objectives are #1 priority, so chasing that fight away from dragon to get that extra kill is not worth giving up your 3rd dragon.
  7. If you have baron, get in a lane for christ's sake. Jungle farming is useless with baron buff, so at least try to split a lane to apply pressure.
  8. If you see the support at 30%-20% health in front of you, but there is an adc at the back of the team fight, DONT kill the supp unless neccesary. He is bait, go kill the damage and he is useless.
  9. If you see someone walk into a bush instead of using an escape move to get away, and you know its off cd, its a trap. USE A WARD.
  10. For that matter, USE MORE WARDS!
  11. If a lane is 5/0/3 for the enemy, dont gank it or the enemy will be 7/0/3. Just tell the laner that he would 2v1 you and to stay under tower best you can.
  12. Pay attention to pings.
  13. Pay more attention to pings. Especially if I danger ping your lane 5 times because your being ganked and you sit there under the enemy tower.

I'm sure there are many more, but I kinda just threw up all of my frustration with silver ELO onto the keyboard hoping it would make sense.
