Random people adding me in game to become friends

When I log in, I'm starting to get these random people requesting to be on my friend's list, which I find very weird.

I don't recognize any of those names and they aren't people I've recently played with. I'm only a bronze2 support main and I have no idea why people want to be on my friend's list other than to try to sell me ELO coaching or items (made a mistake back in the days to accept a random friend and they spammed me ELO coaching all day, so annoying).

This seemed to happen more often after I started posting more on the boards. so, does anyone know what people are adding me for? its kind of annoying.
