Not playing with a really bad connection is the right call.
That doesn't mean there is no solution to fix it though. Submit a Support Ticket.

Take one of these to wipe away the tears.
Then do some research. New location, new ip, new route, new things everywhere. You may have to open ports, allow firewall connections, or something else. You're inconvenienced. I get it,
but seriously. . . .
If you have windows 7, and recently updated, revert those updates and tell Windows to go %$&# themselves. It's been doing that to me, too. Windows 8 also received the same update. WIndows 10 was always flawed.
The new update sends your usage statistics to Windows, all the time. You could also try WTFast. I had 40 ping before the Windows update, 80 after, and I reverted the updates and now I have 40 again. I'm constantly fighting Windows automatic updates because it updates my computer when I leave it to sleep.
