In blind pick, the generally accepted rule is first call first serve. In draft pick, the generally accepted and officially endorsed rule is first pick first serve.
In all picks, the generally accepted rule is don't be a dick. If someone takes a position when it's been called/picked by someone else, that's them being a dick. Unfortunately, it kind of forces the rest of us to be the bigger man/woman, suck it up, and pick support. :P
