The boards are a stupid echochamber
One thought gets said and gets no traction, then someone else comes up with the same opinion and BOOOM 5000 upvotes even if it's worse said. You can literally see an entire boards front page be nothing but complaining about one thing that isn't even busted that they forget about in 10 days from then, just because it was made popular.
When you ask? Happened with:
- Lethality
- Tank reworks/Tank meta
- ADC changes in early season 6
- Defense item changes
- Ahri
- Viegar
- Ivern
- Teleport changes
- Kogmaw revert
- Ryze re-re-rework
- Karma rework
- Aatrox rework (Suddenly everyone was an Aatrox main)
- AD assassin changes
- Mage rework
- Galio rework
Literally all of those things have either stuck around or been fixed to where the community doesnt scream for pitchforks and torches.
Currently Ahri has been in the front page. Why? Because people claim she is OP. Why? Because her winrate. What about her winrate? That there are mainly only ahri mains playing her so her winrate is up there. Not because she is broken. If she was broken, why wasn't she broken last patch? What about the patch before that?
Same thing happened to Viegar. He was played one round in the LCS a few years ago. Then everyone had a problem with him. He has counters. Champions with blinks, QSS, MR is a huge counter. But no. The boards refused to recognize any of these and he got nerfed out of the meta.
