Secret Chmapion buffs to promote current skin sales?

Title pretty much says all. I'm not going to go into details because I just want people to share their personal experiences and opinions on this idea. I've noticed for a while now that when new skins and promos come out, the champions in question seem to do overwhelmingly and surprisingly well. Right now I feel like Ashe and Kat are fairing much better against me than they normally do. I remember back when DJ sona came out, a lot of people were playing her and doing VERY WELL. In my opinion, wouldn't people playing these champs actually do generally worse than normal, seeing as most people buying a skin are trying the champion out new or returning to it after having not played it for a while? Wouldn't you expect to do better against champs with new skins because of that idea? Its my personal opinion that when Riot wants to sell one of the new things they introduce to the game, they secretly make slight tweeks and buffs to those specific champions, adding them into the game unannounced. Like making crit% higher, base dps higher, ex. Anything that would make the champ good enough for people to say 'hey that champ is pretty powerful, maybe I want to buy it or buy that new skin for it'. Thoughts?

When DJ Sona came out, Sona was still trash. The only reason why you may think she was any good is that those one trick Sona playrs who can do wonders with her played her more. Also more people would play her, so chance of winning would go higher. If you know what I mean.

Ekko is all right now, not super oppressive as he was, not weak either. He has his place in League and I don't see a problem.

Kata was, is and will always be 50:50 champion who either feeds her arse off or destroys the game.

Ashe was strong for some time now. I am sure they would delay those nerfs because of that overpriced Project skin, but she will get what is coming to her. :C

Dunno what else skins came out when champion was OP but I think you are incorrect thinking they do this on purpose.

Reworked mages made Malzahar, Vlad and Swaine OP as fck, Zed is nowadays permabanned because of QSS nerf.... yet none of those got any new skins.

SKT skins have nothing to do with this theory, PROJECT skins as well (I believe Ashe is just a coincidence)... what else you think was OP just because of skin? Can you give me some examples?

I haven't seen a hype so big on any of my mains (Vi or Sejuani) for a skin so I can't tel you for sure but I believe is just that normally those champions don't get played often enough so when a good skin came out all the people that know how to play them but stopped because they were weaker than the meta come back to play them.

Champions are like riding a bike, after you play a couple of games with them you are pretty much back to the level you were before
