Safe ish mid first picks help

I tried out mid a couple games and I have to pick first or second usually somehow. Since I don't have a ban, I can't ban out Yasuo, so I always seem pick wrong when I think 'safe pick' and then just get stomped by Yasuo.

Now, I will admit that I suck against Yasuo. Is Lux a safeish pick? or who might be a good pick assumign that I tend to see Yasuo most of the time (I can't play him very well so I don't try) and don't really want to go into another game and get stomped... angering yet another team :P

Lissandra Orianna Morgana Leblanc

Lb has a relatively high skill cap but the other three are relatively safe. Morgana can push the lane easily, Orianna can poke and push. Lissandra just wrecks him in lane if you auto his shield every time it is up. His windwall doesn't block your W or R.

So... Yasuo counters?

A quick google search would suggest Swain, Azir, Annie, Kennen, or Malzahar.

DO NOT pick lux, she's a support for the bot lane but for some reason lux players keep going mid and fail so hard.

Ahri Annie Karma Azir Cassiopeia are pretty good. I put Karma in there because I've seen a Karma mid on my team before and she won the lane easily...so there's that. And if you play Azir, early game pretty much nobody can touch you.

In my experience, Syndra which is my favorite, is good against Yasuo because his shield doesn't block her Q or W which are .her main sources of damage. She's also a massive lane bully and can poke her opponent down before going all in at around level 4-5.

Orianna Ekko are really safe picks. Ori doesn't really have any hard counters. Ekko is probably the safest champ in the game if you know how to play him.
