Credit: ZDA Aquarius Alright so here is what he told me, depending on how many loses you have in your placements you will drop 1 Division. If you win you stay in the same spot (no increasing). So lets use me for an example, i finished the season as Gold 5 and went 4-6 in my placements and got Bronze 1. Now if i go down 6 divisions from Gold 5 we get Bronze 1. Idk if it works for everyone but so far it works for everyone ik. Hope this helps to explain your placements!

I dropped 8 divisions went 5-5 in placements, season 5 plat 4. Now if I do the math here e=mc^2 your theory is incorrect.

Yeah, this doesn't work for everyone. I have a friend who ended in diamond 4 last season, and got plat 5 after going 2-8 for his placements.

Not to mention that anyone who was in diamond 5 or higher last season could go 10-0 for their placements, but they will wind up in plat 1, as that is the highest anyone can be placed after their placements.
