Why am I suddenly seeing increased plays of Katarina, Talon & Rengar?

This just happened over the last few games before & after Patch 6.21, and it can mean a few things:

  1. They realized these champions exist after Riot announced the Assassin Update.
  2. They're having their last moments with the prework champions.

Or the last, and possibly the dumbest...

  1. They thought the Assassin Update is live.[slayer-jinx-unamused]

They want to be able to say that they "main" the champion, so that they can later complain that the rework "ruined" them.

This happens basically every time Riot reworks something.
