@Ironstylus Kassadin's future VU

Everyone has their own personal list of who needs a VU and for me on the top of the list is Kassadin. He looks terrible with a very blocky model, limited animation, very few lines of dialogue and a death animation where he still looks like he's standing lol. Let's not even get into his skins, Deep One doesn't even slightly give the vibe of an underwater diver, it's just a glow in the dark green thing. :S

But beyond that his actual aesthetic is confusing and makes little sense to me. He's someone who's been touched by the void who comes back with a dress, random spikes/horns sticking out of his head and crotch and a scuba gear like breathing mask and tank. There seems to be little rhyme or reason behind the aesthetic and conflicts with Malzahar who has also been touched by the Void but who does not now need assisted breathing.

My question is what are your thoughts on Kassadin, Ironstylus. What would you want do with him with a VU or Relaunch? Also is he at all a priority? He's getting a rework but like Heimer he's not getting a VU with it (it's been stated in the past that you guys prefer to put VU's and big reworks together).

To me, visually, one of the things I like most about Kassadin are the web of lines he leaves on the ground behind him while walking. A little detail to be sure, but definitely one of my favorite things about him.

DISCLAIMER: I have never played Kassadin, and see him rather rarely, though I have seen his in-game appearance with a model viewer.

I'm sort of curious what you would like to see in his theoretical VU: What elements of his design would you like to keep? I saw "Arm blade" being one of them, but is anything else about the design that you'd retain?

Now personally, keeping the above disclaimer in mind, I think it would be nice if they emphasized the "Void-corrupted human" element: As far as I can tell, the only things 'void-y' about his design are his particles, and I guess light-blue skin. I suppose you could say this about Malzahar, but I feel like this could be justified due to him willingly giving into the void, while Kassadin fought against it, and could have been mutated by the energy trying to force him to succumb.

Maybe, for example, his arm-blade could become like a glowing sword-shaped spike jutting out of a mutated, twisted-looking arm? Just a thought. Even the spikes and horns could be retained it it were redesigned as looking like a mutation, rather than a design of his armor.

I can agree with you that the tubes and air tank are rather odd: Maybe they were initially going for a 'space' aesthetic, maybe something you'd wear to protect yourself if you had to cross through a dimension?

I'd also like for him to keep the robes, but he needs to get feet with them =\

Yeah, Kass could really use some help. I could honestly go without the weird breathing device, but we definitely need to keep the Void blade. To be honest, I think it would be really awesome if he was dual-wielding those blades.
