So... Project Fiora

Why in the hell does Project Fiona get to have her old-style three-part cape that they took away from her old skins when they put them in a blender and shredded them into awful crap? It was THE most iconic part of her outfit and they took it away, but OH LOOK, the fancy new skin has it back? Why? Why make these awful visual design choices and then reverse them but only if you pay up?

I was pretty pissed about the Fiora remodel in general and how garbage she looks now when she DIDN'T need new visuals AT ALL. This just proves to me that riot knows damned well that her old look was better and they trashed all the skins for a champ I liked just because they were too stubborn to listen to the fans who complained.

Actually Deitrix the reason for PROJECT Fiora's cape is because of the timing in our development pipeline. We developed the project Fiora skin before the rework. On skins team we usually like to retain at least two of the three main reads for a character, and at the time the tasseled cape was a large read for Fiora. When we saw the redesign for the rework we decided to keep the old cape because the project skin was already pretty far in development, and we felt the difference in capes was minor enough that she would still be recognizable.

how long has her project skin been in development? just curious because it must have been a while

Wait. You developed it before the rework? So that means you had a skin planned out for her when you guys all said you wouldn't come out with a skin for a champion until they got updated.

They probably weren't going to visually update her at first, but then decided to later on.

The thing is, her old rig wasn't problematic. Taric, Evelynn, Poppy, those champs need HUGE work visually. Fiora just got a touch-up. Granted, a touch-up many people didn't like (including me), but the point is that her model's basic structure wasn't significantly altered.

Never expected a red reply on this. Ok, so that explains the old-style cape but not why the remodel was done in the first place. Fiora's old model looked good and didn't need an update. There are many other champs who need a remodel badly and Fiora was NOT one of them. Why did they insist on changing her model and art? If you hadn't guessed, I VERY much dislike the new models for Fiora and her old skins and I'm rather upset that riot changed her unnecessarily and made all the skins I had bought for her look badly. I wouldn't have bought anything for her looking like she does now. I even sent a ticket to customer support asking for refunds on my Fiora skins over it only to be essentially told "lol no, dats our money now.".

Now a new skin comes out for Fiora that is done in her OLD style and it kinda feels like the art team is flipping me the bird after taking my money for one thing, giving me another and then laughing about it. I'm NOT buying a new Fiora skin just to have her not look like crap. I don't care for all the high-tech and mecha skins and even if I did, I'm not shoveling MORE money into skins after having ones I already liked ruined for me with no compensation. Not that any of it matters, I suppose. The new skins will make a ton of money, the playerbase has declared Fiora strong and won't stop griping about her and no one cares in the least about all the fans who disliked the art changes anymore.
