New Champion Confirmed and We Didn't Even Realize It? [Speculation]

Even News of Legends can't confirm what this weapon is. New champion? I think so.

The problem with that is,that this blade doesn't look like yis blade at all.Skins try to keep the champ easily identifiable,but giving yi suddenly a completely different weapon(looks like a mix of Jarvans spear and Renektons weapon) would make him look too much like a different champ.

There are some skins banned in LCS just because it's hard to identify what champion it is. It wouldn't be the first time Riot creates a skin that's hard to identify.

That doesn't mean it was done intentionally(also it is usually more because the unique skill effects are harder to see,not because the champ is hard to identify) And you can't ban skins in regular play.

yeah,but riot has to keep regular play in mind when they make skins. They can't make a skin that lets the champ look completely different because "they'll simply ban the skin for LCS"

the champion must have a relation to Yasuo. considering Renekton is from Shurima and Yasuo is from Ionia, its not likely to be him.

also, it looks different from Renekton's weapon which stayed the same through every skin. Even Legendaries.

There is no reason for the champ to be connected to yasuo,skin canon isn't main canon,so the skins can make any connection they want.

its their ID numbers. they're identical. all the other ID numbers are different. skins shouldn't be this connected. they're already connected through the same Project: name.

That is indeed odd,but them having the same id-numbers wouldn't make much sense even if the top one is connected to Yasuo. It might be just an oversight from riot or could be still related to the skin-canon of the project line.

Even if that other one was related to yasuo,why would he have the same id?I mean a similar ID would make sense,but the same one?

And even if this is no oversight,it is possible that they are related purely by skin-canon,like "both project versions of these champs were created together"

then why are all the other ID's different? each other champion hint ID has a different set of numbers except yasuo's and the mystery champ. its a hint.

Consider that most of the weapons changed in the 'project' series have stranger changes to their form/size, but maintain the same style. Fiora's weapon, for example, is much different. It's more of a slashing weapon more than a piercing weapon like the rest of her weapons are (excluding a ruler, of course..). You do have to admit, the weapon style is 100% Renektons.

Master Yi, Kayle, or Jax. That image has six eyes, which is similar to yi and jax, but the blade could be a kayle blade.

Master Yi is a no since he has a Headhunter skin. (For some reason, all futuristic skins like the Headhunters, Mechas, and Projects do not have a one of the other, so far.) Kayle is a good guess, but she isn't good at "targeting multiple enemies". Jax uses clubs and spears.

Though, we will just have to wait and see.

Yi could still get it since he hasnt had a skin for a long time and same with jax, plus the picture is of a six "eyed" thing, like jax and yi. My guess is still on an 1850 yi or jax.

Okay, recently I've been getting a lot about how they changed Lee Sin's animations to fit his latest skin. And I say, it doesn't mean anything. Hitting or kicking doesn't change the effect it has since Lee Sin always used his hands and feet to deal damage, which corresponds to his Lore. The thing remains that Jax doesn't want to use stronger weapons and his weapon choices are usually heavy, while this new one is light. It's not Jax. Meanwhile, the new skin (champion) must be related to Yasuo, since the numbers on their hints match perfectly.

What? every Lee skin he has skins based around punching :kickingboxing, boxing, martial arts. Jax uses a club or long weapon to hit things, jax hasnt gotten a skin in awhile, and Riot said, there will not be a new champion for awhile! It is not yone, yone is dead.

I don't remember saying "Yone". One thing is for sure, just because a champ hasn't had a skin in a long while, doesn't mean they get it automatically. Skarner and Udyr are good examples. Yes, Udyr got Spirit Guard, but he also had only 2 skins for over 3 years, meanwhile Sona and Ezreal have twice what he has.

People keep saying yone, so I assumed, my bad. Also skarner just got a skin......He got the desert sands skarner. And Udyr got def not udyr.....both those examples have gotten skins recently.

after long waits. Udyr's been fine for years and only has a limited amount, this also goes for Skarner. Jax and Master Yi will get theirs in due time. I just don't see how the weapon is either of theirs when all other weapons match their welders perfectly. Why not this one? Why make it different?

The character in the image features a multi-eyed figure - specifically six of 'could be' eye features. Master Yi has seven "eyes" (goggles), whilst Jax has six of this feature. I think it is more likely to be Jax than Master Yi judging from the image alone.

Jax Default uses a lampost. Temple uses a double-edged poleaxe. Vandal uses a nailed club of wood. Pax uses a bamboo staff. Jaximus uses another double-edged poleaxe. Nemesis uses a morningstar.

A blade addition to these weapons is not a bad idea. They all have one thing in common, they are weapons stuck to poles or are long ranged melee weapons. Maybe the weapon has hidden features, like an extended handle to allow Jax to use it two-handed/long-ranged?

What works: • "Multi-eyed." Jax has six "eyes" just as the character in the PROJECT image. • He also wears headgear that has the tail feature. • He holds the title of "Grandmaster at Arms". His lore expands upon that with mentioning that he has mastered the use of every weapon available and this could include the style of weapon that the Hyperlight Blade is.

What doesn't work: • "Alpha" isn't something I'd personally use to reference the identity of Jax. Alpha of all weapon masters? Maybe. • "Multi-target" would only reference Jax's counter-strike ability, all of his other abilities are either a feature for himself or for a single target. I wouldn't use this to describe a characteristic of Jax's identity.

MasterYi

What works: • Default uses a bladed weapon. • "Multi-eyed." • Double-edged nature of the weapon may reference his Double Strike passive. • "Precision balance", sounds like Master Yi's philosophy. • "Alpha" and "multi-target" seems like his Q ability, Alpha Strike.

What doesn't work: • He has seven goggles/"eyes", the character has six. • The main blade of Hyperlight Blade is not long enough for standard sword use. Unless it is intended to be a complete visual rework.

The weapon description, heavily favours Jax; highly unlikely, Rengar or Renekton.

However the character description favours Master Yi, quite heavily.

I can't really decide, I would go with a chance: 48% Jax skin. 37% Master Yi skin. 12% Other Champion skin. 3% New champion.

What if those lights we see are not eyes?

Besides, the image could be one of the 4 champs we already know. Or, it could just be some teaser image and not what any of them look like at all.

Yeah it is probably a new champ(which is the reason why the info is missing,since the champ will most likely be released after the other 4 project skins)

While the weapon could fit jarvan or Hecarim,the descriptions don't really match jarvans abilities(the description talk about fighting multiple opponents at once and a blade made of solid smoke) and the form looks kinda unfitting for hecarim(who has already a mechanical skin)

Shen is champion 98. The blade mentions the number 98. Is it possible that Shen is getting a PROJECT skin? He doesn't have multi-target attacks other than his taunt so that might mean he isn't the unknown PROJECT.

I feel like it's a take on Jax's lamp post that's been adapted to the PROJECT skin line. However, a new champion is HIGHLY unlikely as these skins will probably be out before Worlds, and Riot will not release a brand new Champion before Worlds.

All we have to do is keep an open mind and small basket. We will see eventually. But since all the skins are going to be legendary tier, nobody's going to be disappointed :D
